BioWare Offers Free Copies Of Mass Effect To Call Of Duty Gamers

Earlier today, it was reported that some copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops II for PC mistakenly included Mass Effect 2 discs. BioWare has responded with an interesting offer.

If you are one of the customers affected by a lack of Call of Duty: Black Ops II, currently suffering from a surplus of Mass Effect 2, send BioWare photographic proof. Here's BioWare's offer:

Rumor has it that about a thousand customers who purchased Call of Duty: Black Ops II for PC today were also treated to a surprise copy of Mass Effect 2. If you were one of the affected, chances are you thought it was a mistake, but we prefer to think that it was an omen, and when the universe talks, you should listen.

If the universe thinks that you should be playing Mass Effect right now, who are we to argue? In fact, we want to help! The first fifty fans affected by this phenomenon to send us a picture holding their special disc 2 will receive a code for a FREE PC copy of Mass Effect Trilogy.

  • Haha that's pretty funny. I love Bioware.

  • Amazing way to handle a mix up

  • An omen indeed.....

  • !!!! Okay.... I better start buying some PC games then.

  • Lol, i got one of them, was like WTFFFF

  • Awesome tactics BioWare! Wish that this kind of mistakes happen more often.

  • Gotta admit, they did save a lot of lives there.

I mean, why the hell wants to buy CoD anyway

  • Smart move, BioWare.

  • Great move Bioware !

  • Although the facilities that produce/distribute CDs have strict controls in place, many of the floor jobs (from what I'm told by a family member in the business) are held by temps with nothing to lose. Not that far fetched to wonder if this was some clever form of espionage... but I'm more inclined to believe it the work of one troll in the right position.

  • Wait, Bioware is part of EA now. Ea..free...does not...compute. EA won't even offer good deals on ORigin because it "cheapens" the artor some s*** like that.
  • Really?  ANOTHER disc mixup?  What are the chances lol.  Good for Bioware though :P

  • How funny is it that an EA disc ended up in an Activision package!

  • This is actually really awesome. Who knew EA somewhere deep down has a soul, it may be a tainted cold one but there is a soul.

  • That is pretty freaking awesome, and hilarious.

  • At least they are 'trying' to make it right.

  • Awesome on Bioware's part, but I can't imagine that EA is going to be too happy about Bioware giving away EA published games to Activision customers.

  • well played bioware

  • Way to try and save face for such an dumb error.

lol. at least a few people will get some freebie for this.

  • Classy move Bioware. Classy.
