The lights are on
Earlier today, it was reported that some copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops II for PC mistakenly included Mass Effect 2 discs. BioWare has responded with an interesting offer.
If you are one of the customers affected by a lack of Call of Duty: Black Ops II, currently suffering from a surplus of Mass Effect 2, send BioWare photographic proof. Here's BioWare's offer:
Rumor has it that about a thousand customers who purchased Call of Duty: Black Ops II for PC today were also treated to a surprise copy of Mass Effect 2. If you were one of the affected, chances are you thought it was a mistake, but we prefer to think that it was an omen, and when the universe talks, you should listen.
If the universe thinks that you should be playing Mass Effect right now, who are we to argue? In fact, we want to help! The first fifty fans affected by this phenomenon to send us a picture holding their special disc 2 will receive a code for a FREE PC copy of Mass Effect Trilogy.

Lol that pretty awesome of Bioware.
Got to love a surprise like that!
Oh man, Bioware is pretty awesome for offering this deal to gamers.
One mans mistake is another mans opportunity. :)
That's totally awesome. Bioware is pretty cool.
That's freaking awesome! Too bad the thought of buying Black Ops II didn't even cross my mind. And especially not for PC.
That's actually really cool. In my own opinion as a huge fan of Mass Effect, this is better than getting Call of Duty. I lent my friend ME2 after he continually told me how bad it was and he played it for 10 hours a day for about a week, claiming it was the best game he'd ever played. I like how Bioware is allowing more people to experience that.
Upset that I'm not part of this mistake.
Thats really cool of them! sweet!
Well that was nice of them, though I'm not sure I understand how this mistake came about to begin with.
This is one of those things where, even if you hate Mass Effect, you gotta admit that's awfully cool on Bioware's part. Like when Blizzard or Bungie does something cool for their community. It's about time an EA studio, and Bioware specifically, did something like this. After years of having EA drag their brand down a little more each time they carelessly slapped the "Bioware" name on another studio.
Btw, it's good that Mythic and Victory dropped their Bioware names this month too.
Good time for Bioware:)
So. 2012 must be the apocalypse. EA & Activision are indirectly helping each other.
Good offer. Now the question is: was it intentional?
I just keep thinking of the irony that when I got Mass Effect 2 for PC, my second CD was scratched so I couldn't use it. With that line of thought, if I had gotten it and Black Ops 2 on the same day, could have just used one of the Black Ops II discs in to finish the install...
And to clarify ahead of time: No, I didn't get ME2 recently, it was a long time ago, I'm just thinking hypothetically.
Haha that's pretty funny. I love Bioware.
Amazing way to handle a mix up
