The lights are on
Microsoft said today in the first 24 hours on sale Halo 4 generated more than $220 million worldwide. The game is on track to reach $300 million in global sales in the first week. The game launched in over 40 countries.
Halo 4's launch has pushed the franchise to $3.38 billion in sales total. Microsoft would not comment on first day unit sales for the game, however. "We’re focusing on revenue for this announcement, so we’re not disclosing unit sales at this time," a spokesperson said.
First day sales for Halo 3 back in 2007 totaled $170 million, however that number only includes U.S. sales. Halo Reach generated $200 million in the U.S. and Europe in the first day.

I still have yet to buy this game. I'll buy it soon enough.
Well, ain't that just dandy. I'm loving the game so far, and am personally enjoying the expanded "modernization" of the classic gameplay.
