Devil May Cry DLC Stars Vergil

The first piece of download content for Devil May Cry stars Dante's twin brother Vergil in a new storyline with all new weapons, combos, enemies, and locations.

"Vergil's Downfall" is out "shortly after launch," according to Capcom. It costs 720 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360 and $8.99 on PlayStation Network. Those who pre-order the game in North America at GameStop or EB Canada get the content for free via a redeemable code.

Devil May Cry arrives on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on January 15, 2013 across North America and Europe with a PC version shortly after.

  • Hats off to Ninja Theory and Capcom for giving this content away for free with a pre-order. I was already going to get this game, especially after the cool gameplay video they just released, but now a purchase for me is even more certain.
  • At least they were honest last month when they said "Only Dante is playable in the retail game."

  • Might consider buying this. Kinda on the fence. Does this take place before or after the latest titles of DMC series?
  • Soo Day one DLC Good Old Capcom ya dont let me down (rolls eyes)
  • Vergil... NOW I'm considering getting this game
  • Now that's why I'm talking about! Dlc with almost new everything? YES

  • Well looks like I'll be buying it at Gamestop

  • Off topic: is anyone here a digital subscriber? If so can you please tell me the score black ops 2 got? Thank you !
  • If only Vergil actually seemed cool in this one
  • Man, developers are going to make people angry if they keep announcing DLC before their game is released. If they would just say that they were "planning" for future DLC people wouldn't freak out and say "Oh, day one DLC?! What the heck, that should be on the disc, you didn't put enough time into the main game, blah blah blah." It's the people that feel entitled are the ones that are the worse. P.S. Bioware should have kept the same ending.
  • woooow

  • NO, this does not fly! If he is available on Day 1, with pre-orders, there is no way, at all, that this could not have been included on the disc!!!!!

The PC version better have the DLC included. >:(

EDIT: I read it wrong. It's not Day 1 DLC. Sorry, y'all!
  • Holy geez...from what I've seen the game brings the same action and zaniness the series is known for. But good God Dante and Vergil look like crap compared to their original models. Probably won't happen but DLC that lets players choose the original skins over the new ones would be a great treat for veterans.
  • Vergil seems like kind of a boy scout in this one.
  • It will be on disk, no matter what they say, and everybody will rage!
  • This sounds more like where catwomen was on the disk but needed to be unlocked. DlC was an amazing thing at first. Feels like all the publishers do is content hold out and reward the people who can wait for the GOTY edition.
  • Ah, Vergil. He's still got that awesome look with his katana staying in its sheath, and he still moves so fast that enemies are getting shredded while it looks like he's standing still. DmC just a lot better looking. btw, does anyone agree that the monster designs looks pretty damn cool?
  • Looks like I'm pre-ordering the game.

  • I wish Vergil had a cooler hairstyle and I'm not really a fan of anything DLC related. I really want this game though.

  • The title of the DLC doesn't bode well for him lol and here I was hoping he'd be around a little longer this time
