The lights are on
NCsoft and developer ArenaNet have dropped a few details regarding the upcoming Guild Wars 2 mini-expansion, The Lost Shores, which contains a huge one-time event that will change the face of Tyria.
Starting on Thursday, November 15, players can dive into The Lost Shores, which among other things features a new zone accessible to all players of any level. It also includes: a new dungeon – The Fractals of the Mists (which itself features five mini-dungeons and a random format), an iceberg-based, vertical PvP map (within Kodan's Temple of the Silent Storm), new gear, crafting updates (and over 200 new recipes), and more.
The one-time event will start on Friday, November 16 and go through Sunday, although the entire weekend itself (starting on Thursday) is a free-trial period where those who have already purchased the game can invite along three friends who haven't.
Here's the full schedule from ArenaNet. Also be sure to check out the new screens for the expansion below.

I'm glad they are doing things like this. Keep the events dynamic, fresh and interesting. Interjecting these one time events keeps us invested. I really like what Anet is doing with Guild Wars 2.
Off topic: is any one here a digital subscriber? If so can you please tell me the score black ops 2 got? Thank you !
Im loving these expansion packs of Guild Wars 2
GW2 is very popular and good.
This looks sweet!
wow. cool
Sounds...okay.
I hope videos of this event find their way to youtube because my crappy computer can't run GW2, but I'm still excited about this.
Definitely giving this a try. Though taking a break from Halo 4 will be tough lol. Maybe play both at the same time?
This will help bridge the gap from now until Farcry 3.
