New Mass Effect In Early Stages, BioWare Asks for Feedback

In September, BioWare revealed upcoming plans that included a brand new franchise as well as new Mass Effect title. Executive producer Casey Hudson wants to know what you'd like to see in it. "We're in early stages of designing a completely new Mass Effect game. What would you want to see in it,'" Hudson said on Twitter.

Now's your chance. Where should BioWare take the series next?

Comments
  • It should be an interactive comic book.

  • It should be an interactive comic book.

  • I love the Mass Effect Trilogy. And I think it was essential to start with a human in it. I think the next game should be about 100-500 years into the future after Mass Effect 3 and should be like Dragon Age: Origins where you have many different races and paths to stem a story from. Allow someone to be Human, Asari, Turian, Salarian, Drell, or Korgan. Even add a new race that has evolved or have something like the Rachni, or even the Hanar who have evolved into a much more intelligent being.

  • make it however you see fit ust make it another rpg shooter plz more open to.

  • YES! cant wait for it.make it however you see fit ust make it another rpg shooter plz more open to. and o the people who dont want it, y wouldnt u want another epic trilogy from bioware you guys are stupid.

  • More dialogue options than in ME3. Too often did the player get no input at all in the conversations, and too often were there only two dialogue options. Give the player options to investigate like in ME1 and ME2.

Don't make the plot/work redundant. All the work I did in ME3 to get the galaxy together didn't seem to help out Earth at all. It felt more like Shepard going in alone after everyone utterly fails at coming back to Earth.

Don't make the paragon ending the one with the highest level of consequences. I mean, both EDI and the Geth have to die in order to do what I set out from the very first game? Sorry, this is turning into what ME3 did wrong rather than a feedback, but at the same time learn from the mistakes in ME3 to make the next game legit.

I would like a game where I could choose what alien race I could be, and that would effect the plot as much as my decisions. I'd love to be an Asari, or better yet a Turian. Consider moving the plot away from the main Reaper Threat one - that's Shepard's territory. A plot pre-Reaper or even pre-Shepard...oh hey! how about the time when Humans made first contact with the alien races? That war with the Turians. That would be a cool game. Even if the player isn't directly involved with the war, it would make a cool setting.

New places to go would be great, too.

Get away from the blueprint - the most obvious one being captain of a ship. We want something new. Maybe the player starts as a recruit and works their way up. Maybe they become a pirate. Maybe they don't get a ship at all.

Good luck, Bioware. I hope you read this and it's helpful.
  • I would like to see more optional exploration, more solar systems, and a trading system for artifacts and materials. The game itself is great but the 3rd installment was a huge disapointment. Many players want to be able to explore alien worlds freely.

  • A glimpse of Shepard, come on you guys, you can't just ignore 5 years of character building and go for a new character without revisiting the past

  • My feedback "Don't bother with ME anymore.  The series is over, please work on Jade Empire 2."

  • The ability to recruit on the fly npc from within the world and better weapon and armor building ability.  Think ME had a pretty decent armor equip system.  I just didn't like how upgrading weapons was just basically leveling up the weapon. I want the ability to slap some laser sight with a shotgun attachment etc.

  • Make it in a new galaxy that way there can be different species, different characters, different worlds, different enemies and most importantly a different story.

  • What I would like to see is the ability to choose among the species when creating your character.
  • So wait, are they reading through the comments here?

  • Hmmm.... Just thrown in cool graphics and gripping gameplay.

  • Nudity.

  • I think being able to actually drive a ship like the Normandy in space battles would be kind of cool. But I definitely like the RPG action genre. Keep on developing awesome characters and the world of mass effect. I think character creation should be a little more broad but I can understand how that might make things a little difficult in terms of dialogue and story but it would be cool to choose from different species.

  • Thane

  • Something Asari based.  They have a long history, maybe missions from their past, how they became so powerful.  Or maybe a few thousand years in the future after the bio/mechanical fusion.

  • My advice would be to ignore 'fans' when it comes to crafting the narrative. You know how everybody thinks they are funny and smart and could write a good story if only they could find time out their busy schedule of being mediocre in life and never having the guts to do anything other that critique the art of others rather than create something of their own? Ignore those people.
  • Focus on a new story that takes place long after the original trilogy. Being able to play as other races would be nice now that humanity has established itself as a force to be reckoned with. More open world like the first game and space exploration would be cool. Skyrim in space anyone?
