Call of Duty: Black Ops II Video Streaming Goes To YouTube

It's fun to gun someone down in Call of Duty, and Activision is betting it's also fun to watch. Black Ops II's video streaming feature just found a wider audience thanks to hosting on YouTube.

The live gameplay videos users take in multiplayer League Play can now be streamed to YouTube (with a verified account), complete with the player's webcam and audio commentary if applicable. These streams are also watchable in Call of Duty Elite. If you're a member of the service, you can also click on users' names and find out stats about them such as their loadouts and other data.

Activision says that there will be some restrictions with the live streams, but it didn't specify what. If you like to game in the nude, we imagine it's best to turn your webcam off.

Today's announcement applies only to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Black Ops II. The company did not mention the PC and Wii U editions.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II comes out on November 13 (and November 18 for Wii U).

  • Let's face it. The only reason why people are getting this game is for the zombies.
  • I can't wait to play this. 4.5 days!!

  • I don't think I have felt this excited for a COD since MW2. Looking forward to this.
  • This is crazy. First console game to actually support streaming like this IN game? If I'm getting this correctly, that doesn't mean I need to hook up my Xbox 360 to a PC anymore in order to stream it or record things on it? Can I get a verification on this? Others thinking the same thing?
  • im going to be picking Blops2 up on day one but i doubt this game will be able to compete with Halo4. that game is friggin amazing.
  • You know I'm starting to think that COD might be selling like crazy similiarly to Wii play (think back a few years)
  • Mod

this is the first call of duty game i can actually say im looking forward to , they have finally made well enough changes from art style , gameplay mechanics , that i would love to get a day one buy

  • There was streaming going on like 5 days ago. lol
  • let me start off by saying that i fell out of love with the cod series when BF3 came out. but i gotta admit after seeing this game (BOPS 2)it has convinced me to comeback to the series since my last purchase mw2
  • ★★★★★★★★ SWEET! I just got a free Xbox live codes at http://xboxdailycode.com/ ★★★★★★★★
  • this shouldn't be a problem, all the nude gamers are on uno

  • Wow, somewhat surprised. Figured they would have gone with a partnership with Twitch. But now that I think about it, I guess it's not so surprising. ELITE already has the ability to take any video that you upload from your console and publish it straight to YouTube. So with YouTube making a big push to make people more aware of it being able to stream, nabbing exclusive streaming rights to BO2 would greatly help spread the word of YouTube's capabilities. Pretty awesome.

  • thats awesome

  • The people who actually play these games and pay the close to $2000 dollars on equipment to capture and stream these games in HD on youtube, this helps them out a whole lot ! It's basically like giving a crackhead free weed... Figure of speech. ( In no way, shape, or form, am I affiliated with crack...
  • It's fun to watch videos of Call of Duty. Crazy stuff happens sometimes.
  • Wait. Does this mean that PVR's are a thing of the past?

  • awesome!

  • I pre-ordered Black Ops 2 and many people think that only the hardened edition recieves Nuketown 2025, but normal pre-orders get Nuketown 2025 whats the difference between the hardened edition and the Normal edition?
  • I am not a fan of CoD, but I have to say that Treyarch is taking the series in the right direction. They have proven themselves with the BlackOps title and congratulations on adding all of these cool features.

  • Soon, soon i can kill zombies and stop playing cr@p MW3.
