The lights are on
Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, of the under-appreciated Shantae series, is headed back to a Nintendo handheld console next year.
The announcement of the new game comes from Nintendo Power's most recent issue. The Pirate's Curse picks up right where the previous Shantae game, Risky's Revenge, left off. Shantae is a half-human half-genie, but he she lost her magical powers at the end of the previous game, and is trying to acclimate to life as a mortal. The series has a Metroid-esque tone of exploration to it, and apparently Pirate's Curse plans to continue that tradition.
Shantae and the Pirate's Curse will be a 3DS eShop exclusive, and it will be available next year.

Sweet! I'd really love to see a remake of the original too.
I still need to finish the first one, I lost all my progress when I moved it from DSi to 3DS and haven't played it since. I should have finished it first.
Oh boy editing on this article was horrid. They must be sleepy this late. "to to life as a mortal. Tha gme's": 3 errors in 8 words. I still love you Gameinformer and Kyle. I also love correcting people.
The grammar is strong with this one...
Sweet. But I'd like to see a full physical release--maybe even a full physical collection for the 3DS.
My word, do you read what you write before you publish it? I don't think you can blame that on a copy/paste error.
Loved playing the last two cant wait for this to release!!! Nintendo is really dominating this upcoming generation!!!
Yes! Shantae is awesome
