The lights are on
Halo 4's executive producer and impossibly cool last name owner Kiki Wolfkill said that taking Halo into genres outside of the first-person shooter is entirely possible. Wolfkill pointed to the live-action webs series Forward Unto Dawn as an example of how Halo could work outside of a shooter video game.
In an interview with CVG.com, Wolfkill explained the vast possibilities for the franchise. "Forward Unto Dawn allowed us to explore characters a little bit differently and tell a different kind of story – and that is interesting to us. We want Halo as a universe to grow and evolve and be a Star Wars... all the good parts about Star Wars!"
On our cover story trip for Halo 4, we spoke to Frank O'Connor about this exact possibility, including whether or not the team is interested in a sequel to Halo Wars. Watch the video below.
Wolfkill also said that 343 Industries considers itself not just a development studio, but an IP studio. You can check out the full interview by clicking here, and you can check out our Halo 4 review right here.

haha put it in whatever genre Heavy Rain is
I hope not when it comes to the new trilogy. Other Halo games, sure.
With a name like Wolfkill, you almost have to be successful. You can't live in your parents' basement with a name like that.
I always thought Halo in 3rd person would be sweet if it looked like Dead Space or Batman Arkham games. I may stand alone on that one lol.
Halo Wars 2 or GTFO!
I wouldn't mind something a little different, as long as it doesn't say to far away from the Halo universe.
I would definitely love to see a Halo: Battlefront.
I'd totally get a third-person Halo with destructable environments.
Bring back Ensemble. We need Halo Wars 2
I don't know how I feel about this...
I'm all for expanding the Halo universe.
Halo Wars 2; perhaps taking place during the events of Halo 3 while the Chief is kicking @ss in outer space.
Halo was the only other Halo game i was ever interested in picking up. I mean, after Halo: Combat Evolved, i had my fill of running around, shooting things, and waiting for my shields to recharge. Halo Wars was awesome. It's a shame though, that Microsoft shuttered the studio that made it.
As long as it's done right, like Halo Wars, I wouldn't mind seeing it jump to different genres.
Halo Wars was a very entertaining RTS. I hope they make a sequel.
I would like Halo to be kept along its traditional lines, but I would honestly be a fan of an RPG...or rather, RPS in this case.
