The lights are on
Halo 4's executive producer and impossibly cool last name owner Kiki Wolfkill said that taking Halo into genres outside of the first-person shooter is entirely possible. Wolfkill pointed to the live-action webs series Forward Unto Dawn as an example of how Halo could work outside of a shooter video game.
In an interview with CVG.com, Wolfkill explained the vast possibilities for the franchise. "Forward Unto Dawn allowed us to explore characters a little bit differently and tell a different kind of story – and that is interesting to us. We want Halo as a universe to grow and evolve and be a Star Wars... all the good parts about Star Wars!"
On our cover story trip for Halo 4, we spoke to Frank O'Connor about this exact possibility, including whether or not the team is interested in a sequel to Halo Wars. Watch the video below.
Wolfkill also said that 343 Industries considers itself not just a development studio, but an IP studio. You can check out the full interview by clicking here, and you can check out our Halo 4 review right here.

I hope it does. I loved Halo Wars.
I can't get passed that name its just awesome.
Awesome name indeed.
o_O a stealth platformer of Halo... I'd play that
I wonder if it is a little to far fetched to want a Halo RPG style game? I am not sure how it would work, maybe like Mass Effect so you can explore more of the Halo universe and experience different parts of the original war or the new war through multiple different planets and maybe even eyes. Just an idea I think would be interesting.
Be like Star Wars? So there will be a Halo Angry Birds?
Wait...she said all the good parts about Star Wars.
Halo RPG. Done properly, this would be the greatest game...of all time.
Not sure how I feel about this, I would not mind a Halo Wars 2 (that was one of the best RTS I've played) but anything else? I'm not so sure, it seems like they would be selling out.
That's one f*cking sweet name.
Halo Wars anyone? Well other than that, if Halo could even become an RPG that takes place in the Human-Covenant war, that would be a treat ^_^
