Xbox SmartGlass iOS Out Now

Not to be confused with the Xbox Live app, the new SmartGlass app interacts with your Xbox 360, in some cases changing your phone or tablet into a second screen. Download the App through the iTunes here.

Here are some of the features:

  • Navigate your Xbox 360 with swipe and tap
  • Use your phone’s keyboard to type to your Xbox 360
  • Browse the Internet on your Xbox 360 with full keyboard and zooming
  • Play, pause, fast forward, rewind, and stop videos and music on your Xbox 360
  • Search the full Xbox catalog of music, video, and games
  • Enjoy rich, interactive experiences from select game and entertainment content creators
  • Track and compare your achievements with your Xbox friends
  • Change up your 3D avatar
  • Message your Xbox friends
  • Edit your Xbox profile

SmartGlass was released last week on Android devices.

  • We've really been spoiled as humans. It wasn't too long ago a moon rock described to me the painstaking measures it utilizes to find some edible dust.
  • this is dumb... why do i need to control the dashboard with my phone? isnt that what the contoller is for?
  • wait. xbox - microsoft ; itunes/ios - apple ....
  • At least they didn't wait years this time to try and compete with Nintendo's new gimmick.

  • seems kinda interesting
  • I hope this tech works, but I wouldn't put any money on it.
  • I will be using this, but I also think that it wont do anything to the Wii U. Microsoft would have to relese a new console just to compete.
  • Yo Jim, this is the same thing as the xbox live app. Not entirely, but it replaced my xbox live app when I updated my apps today. Even when it was just the xbox live app I enjoyed it, I am looking forward to the expanded version of it.

  • lol the buzz on this died instantly

  • I'm actually jacked for this.

As someone who almost always has something playing while I play games this is perfect.

    I just want AC3 support!

  • Looks like this actually replaced the Xbox Live app.
  • The only thing that's smooth about SmartGlass is how smoothly it syncs up with the Xbox 360 via your profile. Doing anything else on the phone is actually much more cumbersome than just using a controller. Using this thing is actually not very intuitive or realistic.
  • It's not bad, it's not good & it exists for the simple reason of "why the hell not?" lol

  • When is it coming to Droid?
  • Tried this out with the election returns live event last night, and it was pretty hit or miss. As a video remote, it worked fairly nicely. I could see this being more intuitive for apps like Netflix than a standard controller. Some of the added features just didn't work though. I tried using the electoral college map a couple of times, and found that it would load, but not allow interaction (I couldn't scroll the map, zoom in or out, etc.). There's some potential here...but it feels like it still needs work.
  • Cool.....?
  • What about Android ?
  • get on it Sony!
