Mass Effect 3 Wii U Details

BioWare confirmed Mass Effect 3 for Wii U contains an interactive back story for both Mass Effect 1 and 2. Additionally, download content From Ashes, the Extended Cut, Rebellion, Resurgence and Earth multiplayer packs, and a bonus heavy weapon, are all included on the disc, BioWare says.

"The updated version will allow Wii U players to get the back story of Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 and will allow them to make decisions at key story points," said BioWare producer Melanie Faulknor. "These choices will then create a save game for you that can be imported into the game, opening up more storylines for each player.

The Wii U special edition of Mass Effect 3 is available for the Wii U launch on November 18.

  • this is...Disturbing
  • Cool?

  • Just give us the Mass Effect Trilogy.
  • That seems like a pretty cool idea.
  • At least Wii U players will get to make decisions. Still doesn't make up for not being able to play the first two games.
  • They should put the entire trilogy on the Wii U. The Ps3 has one, why not this?
  • Okay then? I much prefer my 360 version of Mass Effect 3 however I do appreciate the idea for the WiiU. At least WiiU is getting some good games. (Still looking forward to ZombiU more)

  • Would I love to get the first 2 games? Absolutely. This is definitely the next best thing.

  • As opposed to just putting the trilogy on the Wii U. This version will deservedly so--not sale.
  • This is going to be dumb on Wii U. The trilogy already ended.. Why revive it, on a stupid next-gen console ?
  • How about making a ME collection for the Wii-U similar to what they have done for the Ps3, xbox 360, PC, and Dreamcast?
  • I managed to finally make it through 1 because I heard 2 was so much better, I think 5-10 hours into 2 I just gave up. Anyone else not get into these games? I must pay kudos to the series though, it was because of Mass Effect I began to really analyze what games are truly special to me, helped me slow down my purchase rate so to speak. I am attracted to high scoring games I won't like, with so many games out there mediocre just doesn't fit into the schedule, but even with the AAA now I really double click on the games mechanics, story content, etc to be certain it's something worth my time.
  • Yeah! EA is giving FREE MULTIPLAYER DLC OUT FOR FREE! Good job EA! Give me a break....
  • I still don't see the sense in a Wii U version of ME3 or Batman Arkham City(besides the money). The only people who haven't played these games yet are either die-hard Nintendo fans who don't have a 360, PS3, or gaming PC, or people who just weren't interested in playing them to begin with. And it can't help matters any that these games are available on the other platforms for half of the price of the Wii U version. And yes, I know that it will be a different experience, but enough to warrant a $60 purchase?
  • Why not just release the damn trilogy?
  • I will be adding this to the my Wii U day 1 titles.

  • Not that good of a package, IMO.  Yea, its great that this is getting the DLC.  Ideally though, this should have been the trilogy plus the DLC.

  • well that makes up for paying the same price as the trilogy on 360 and PS3 ;)

  • why not just put the trilogy on the wii u? with masseffect 1 being ported to ps3 the wii u stand alone version seems like the less desirable version.
  • the trilogy is better.
