The lights are on
THQ said today that overall sales of Darksiders II fell below expectations for the quarter. The game, which released in August, has shipped 1.4 million since the end of September 2012.
The publisher did not say what the future of the franchise would be given the lower-than-expected sales on today's investor call. A Wii U version of Darksiders II is planned for release on November 18.
Currently, the game has a average review score of 83.
That is very sad to hear, this game series are some of my most treasured joys.
I wonder how this will affect THQ? Because this was meant to be one of their better selling games.
Very sad because their concept is soo great and has a lot of potential, I believe that it tries to be too big which is unfortunate, because with proper mechanics implemented with less repetition it can be absolutely phenomenal. I want to buy this game but sadly I cannot afford it with my school budgets and lack of a job :(
This is unfortunate news for two reasons, first there may not be a Darksiders 3, and second August just became even less appealing as a release date. There's already so few AAA titles dropped during the summer months that news like this won't help the situation.
Hopefully it gets a bump in sales, would love to see what this franchise has in store.
This is really unfortunate. I was pleasantly surprised by this game, and I hope sales pick up.
That sucks, game was a lot of fun. I think the holidays may help push some more sales for it, but who knows.
