Rumor: Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Confirmed By Voice Actor

Update: Infinity Ward has since denied this report.

----------------------------------

The voice actor behind the cigar of Captain Price casually confirmed to a fan that he is working on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 with Infinity Ward.

Bill Murray (who only shares a name with Peter Venkman's alter ego and is not actually the same person) mentioned his involvement to a fan who recognized the actor's voice while on a plane. This is by no means a confirmation of a new Call of Duty, but the series has had an annual release every year since 2005, so there is that.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II, or as I like to call it, Call of Duty '13, is set for release November 13.

  • The only thing that would make this ok with me (and this is just my personal thought) is if this was slated for a 2014/2015 release on a new engine with a complete overhaul of the game.
  • I for one am SHOCKED.
  • Alright, that's cool. I'm sure we all seen this coming. Hope it's a good one. I'm looking forward to Black Ops II.

  • i bet it'll look completely different from the last 3.
  • Great......I'm looking forward to this soooooooo much. Oh wait
  • In all honesty, I actually find this quite surprising. I don't really see how they can continue the story on from the Modern Warfare games, I was sure they would just start a new sub franchise, like Black Ops.
  • Wish they would stave away from the Modern Warfare series and branch into something else. I wonder if they will use the staple "last stand to kill the final enemy" technique they seem to love...
  • please die already. please, please die already. so much wasted money, imagine how many indie devs could see their vision realised to the fullest extent. instead one more P.O.S MMS fills up the shelves
  • Shocker. This series is just digging their grave deeper and deeper.
  • Not sure what they plan on doing with this. At the end of the game, they make peace with Russia. So, Ramirez and Sgt. Foley's time can't be explored further. There's Price, that's it. Not sure if they plan on introducing another antagonist, another protagonist, or what.
  • Best thing about Modern Warfare... Captain Price, what a legend.
  • 'This is by no means a confirmation of a new Call of Duty...' - Really?
  • Man, Activision really can't kill a brand until it's too late. I'm sure we're going to see at least 7 Modern Warfare games.
  • You hear that? That is the sound of nobody being surprised.

  • The sarcasm is strong in these comments.

  • They really just.. need to stop, Activision needs to let it go & pack call of duty up, sequels are supposed to be about progressively making the game better & more interesting but they're are not progressing when they are making the same damn game every year. I'm getting bo2 but only because of the zombies but I swear that will be the last cod i'll ever lay hands on.
  • I hope not. MW 1 and 2 were good, but I was disappointed with MW3 in basically every aspect. If they choose to do it, it has to be what 3 wasn't. WAIT, you can't do a MW without SOAP!!!!!!
  • This just means they'll have to take an entire year struggling to catch up to the staggering sales of Halo 4.......
  • I'm down for another modern warfare game. So far they've all been top notch games. If you disagree then simply don't buy it.

  • Why? MW was completely wrapped up after 3 they don't need a wait a minute this Activision of course they need a 4th...
