The lights are on
Electronic Arts is disappointed with the early results of Medal of Honor Warfighter.
While EA didn't disclose specific sales figures yet, the publisher indicated things aren't going too well. “The Medal of Honor launch is coming in below our expectations," said CEO John Riccitiello. The average review score for the game currently sits in the low 50s.
EA says, however, that Medal of Honor Warfighter topped its first week in sales in the UK. An update on North American sales were not provided at this time.
“We’re disappointed with the critical reception," added Frank Gibeau, president of EA's Labels. "Our internal testing and mock reviews indicated that the game is better than the actual score we have right now. We believe it is.
"However, we are seeing some folks out there that just don’t like the game."
EA says it will continue to support the game with marketing and additional content going forward.
Hm, guess I won't get this game.
I'm not surprised that the launch was below their expectations. I was hoping the MoH game would actually be good, but it ended up being another mediocre release.
I seen it coming a mile away when I played the multiplayer beta . hopefully they will get someone like cliff blazinske to make a better Medal of hombre game
I'm enjoying the game.
I haven't played MoH Warfighter, and I probably never will. I'm just so burnt out on military shooters right now. I mean, CoD's been burning a hole in the gaming world for almost 10 years now and I just can't play it anymore. I'm sure Warfighter has unique things about it, but it's still too cookie-cutter for me.
Its just not worth my time to play this game with the bad timing because so many other good games are coming out and going to take over my playing time (AC3,Halo 4). There has to be something totally new for me to play this, otherwise this just seems to me like a regular FPS military shooter with a few different perks or tweaks.
Good..... The game plays and looks like ass. The ratings are right on the money. Don't know who is stupid enough to waste their money on this game. It's worth $20 not $60.
It's too much like Battlefield 3. That's why a lot of people don't like it! Duh.
The game didn't look interesting from the start. All the bad reviews just confirmed I didn't want it.
No crap ! EA doesn't know how to make FPS games ! Stick to sports EA !
It's actually pretty decent. I liked it a lot.
This is what I like to call Developer Entitlement
well the critics were all pissed because they were not given there codes till the day the game came out. i know its not a perfect game right now but it is only its first week out. i remember MW3 was unplayable for its first 2 weeks last year. the reason people hate it so much is because they suck at it. with a few patches this will be the best fps this year. have fun with your jetpacks.
Quit half assing your games, and your sales will be better.
