The lights are on
Electronic Arts is disappointed with the early results of Medal of Honor Warfighter.
While EA didn't disclose specific sales figures yet, the publisher indicated things aren't going too well. “The Medal of Honor launch is coming in below our expectations," said CEO John Riccitiello. The average review score for the game currently sits in the low 50s.
EA says, however, that Medal of Honor Warfighter topped its first week in sales in the UK. An update on North American sales were not provided at this time.
“We’re disappointed with the critical reception," added Frank Gibeau, president of EA's Labels. "Our internal testing and mock reviews indicated that the game is better than the actual score we have right now. We believe it is.
"However, we are seeing some folks out there that just don’t like the game."
EA says it will continue to support the game with marketing and additional content going forward.
I actually enjoyed the game. I would give it a 7.50. I still play Battlefied 3 online almost all the time, but I enjoyed the campaign of this game, which is the main reason I bought it.
well, of course, first day of release then comes with massive 1 day patch.
well considering the reviews weren't too great is it really suprising? .. make a good game n it sells better than a crummy 1 shessh -_- ( unless its a niche game or wasn't marketed well)
Wow....just WOW.....EA doesn't really get it anymore do they?
the worst part of all this is, you can't even dump the blame on just Danger Close Games. everyone here whos been around for even sometime knows that the blame lies AT LEAST partially with EA themselves since they were ok with releasing an unfinished product just to get it out before CoD and the holidays. Danger Close didn't have the amount of time they needed because EA wouldn't allow them to. the real problem being exposed is that every money hungry a$$hole in the video game industry wants they're share of the generic military shooter pie. they don't care who they screw over and throw under the bus to get that precious slice with.
Okay for one it's not a rip off of COD. I find it funny that people don't like it is a majority of COD players hence why they don't like it due to it's not built like COD gameplay is. Black ops 2 will sell better because of the fan base. I still love the original medal of honor for the pc over any COD game. I for one think it's a good game regardless of bugs. Yeah i can't find where i can get the military edition but hell doesn't bother me. And for the patch okay would you rather have the beta gameplay still or at least an attempt in fixing the problem. No game on day one will be perfect.
I thought it was a good game, I still want to get my hands on a copy
I think Warfighter is a better game than people make it out to be. Yes its rough around the edges, but I think patches could fix some of the problems. I think its a solid 8-8.25.
That's what happens when you create a awful game, EA.
The only reason I haven't gone anywhere near this game is because the reviews were just so crushing towards it. I was one of the people on the fence but the reviews just tore it apart so I've kept my distance.
lol, not to troll, but the prequel to this pretty much...well sucked. I blasted through the campaign with a pistol... on the hardest difficulty. I enjoy realism in games, but i don't want them to be as easy as being the terminator, destroying with skill and no emotion. I want games to also have an overwhelming effect that'll make me say, "Sarsely (how I say seriously, lol), I have to fight that?!?!" Something that will cause some mental and emotional chaos. Please work on this developers. Though I haven't played Warfighter, but it looks the same,(save the new buttons and other accessibles), so I can't imagine it getting good sales much less good ratings.
Most people bashing this game, more than likely have never even played it.
No one seems to care about Medal of Honor 'cause they're waiting for more Call of Duty crap. There's nothing special about it, but people still seem to buy more COD. The day one patch didn't help MOH any, and the aiming mechanics are way off. There are a few problems with it, but it was a damn good game. There are so many Military shooters out there it's ridiculous. Lets move on. That's why I stick to better games like Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect and games like them.
Besides some disconnects, respawn bugs and controls layout than only contortionist can handle effectively, MoH is a good game with fast-paced gameplay. It isn't maybe spectacular, but I think BF3 has set the bar quite high and in comparison to it any new military FPS won't be. Well, maybe BF4, I'm waiting for beta.
I'll make it easier for EA. NOBODY TOLD YOU TO EXCLUDE DICE FROM MEDAL OF HONOR. The first one was good even though it was short but look at BATTLEFIELD 3. ( YOU ARE IN THE SAME A** HOLE AS CAPCOM when they came out with Operation Racoon City. ) STUPID STRATEGY FROM CAPCOM AND EA giving other studios high profile games. IF YOU ARE GOOD WITH A CERTAIN STUDIO STAY WITH THEM MORONS. SIMPLE AS THAT. Learn from your competitors Activision, Treyarch and Infinity Ward. (Screaming) JUST STAY WITH YOUR DEAD SPACES AND NEED FOR SPEEDS. SHOOTERS FORGET IT YOU GUYS FLUNK
First of all i loved MOH 2010..Story was great and i played endless hours of the multiplayer..the only problrm i had with that game was how short the campaign was..Now onto MOHWF..once again i loved the campaign but again a lil too short even for on hard difficulty..As for multiplayer..i love alot of the ideas and things they incorporated with difeerent nationalities and different perks n specializations for each different class..great idea..but as for the gameplay online..hated it..i still continue to play cuz i didnt pay for it for no reason to not give it a chance..n even though im tearing it up online im not really enjoying myself..they should of kept dice to do the online..im sure they learned from their mistakes after MOH 2010..As u can see the results of battlefield 3..i still play that game since launch..i think for now on..those two companies should stay partners and danger close do the campaigns n dice the multiplayer n thats it..n whos idea was it to take out the tanks from the mode combat mission?!?!?
