The lights are on
Electronic Arts is disappointed with the early results of Medal of Honor Warfighter.
While EA didn't disclose specific sales figures yet, the publisher indicated things aren't going too well. “The Medal of Honor launch is coming in below our expectations," said CEO John Riccitiello. The average review score for the game currently sits in the low 50s.
EA says, however, that Medal of Honor Warfighter topped its first week in sales in the UK. An update on North American sales were not provided at this time.
“We’re disappointed with the critical reception," added Frank Gibeau, president of EA's Labels. "Our internal testing and mock reviews indicated that the game is better than the actual score we have right now. We believe it is.
"However, we are seeing some folks out there that just don’t like the game."
EA says it will continue to support the game with marketing and additional content going forward.
I am going to buy this games when the price comes down. By what this is saying, it should not be to long.
Maybe they should have given Danger Close more time to work on the game. I can tell they're a passionate studio with ambitions...but for some reason, I can't help but think EA was hindering their creativity and productivity with a tight deadline and what-not.
Anyway, I actually have the game. From my short experience with it so far, I'd give it a score somewhere between 6.5 and 7.0. It's a beautiful game with some great setpieces, but the story is kind of boring (despite its attempts to portray the realism of war), some of the game mechanics are unnecessary and questionable, and the overall feel of the game (gameplay, mission objectives, multiplayer, etc.) is uninspired and generic. I was really hoping Warfighter would be a massive improvement over its predecessor. :(
Should have released it Q1 2013. Idiots.
That's disappointing. Hopefully, if the developers are given another chance, they can get a better hold on Frostbite 2 for the next game.
Maybe if the game was not a piece of *** people would buy it.
they had way to much pride in the game, that's why, they made everything good about the first one bad and the visual are not nearly as good as i expected, the lighting is TERRIBLE, its fun gameplay but they really try too hard to compete with COD, i noticed a lot of annoying players like in COD (campers and stuff like that) it just is irritating to play!
*gasp!* This is me looking surprised.
Ha, well there's a real shocker, eh? nope- not quite.
At least the graphics are alright. ;-)
It's EA. Should be no surprises here.
Spoiler! The game is awful
