The lights are on
During this morning's Nintendo Direct broadcast, the company revealed the North American name for Animal Crossing 3DS title already out in Japan.
The game will be called Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and is scheduled to come out sometime in the first part of 2013.
New Leaf casts you as mayor of the town, and includes a variety of customization options, including the ability to decorate the town, your house, and avatar as you like. You can also share your outfits with friends via a generated QR code.

If it's as good as I think it'll be, I'm sure I'll play this one as much as I did the GameCube and DS one. ^_^
This is great news. Finally a game that might make me consider buying a 3DS. Wild World for the DS was great, and so was the Gamecube version - though I haven't played City Folk for the Wii.
I never played the other ones, but I only hear great things about it. Maybe this will be a reason to dust off my 3DS, give it a charge, and bring it with me again.
Heres hoping the holidays return. Made me sad the traditional ones were stripped from Wild World. Also more Nintendo swag like Samus' armor would be awesome.
The only Animal Crossing game I've played was the DS one, but I absolutely loved it. Such a relaxing and charming game. Definitely getting this new one.
K.K. Slider, what are you doing?! Giving in to pop trends, where's your guitar?!
.....On a side note, the game looks really awesome! I preferred the previous handheld version over both console versions, so I'm hoping this game feels just as good.
I love the AC series and this game sounds so darn good. This is the kind of improvement the Wii version should have been. Definitely one of the first games I get when I pick up a 3DS.
I can't wait to play this with my girlfriend. She loves the games. I expect this title to far surpass its handheld brethren Wild World.
Man I really got sucked into the DS one, I liked the other two as well but I feel being portable is a big plus for this kind of game. This was one of the reason I got a 3DS in the first place, can't wait.
