The lights are on
Valve said today Left 4 Dead 2 is going free to play starting this Thursday through the rest of the weekend. New players can start pre-loading now on Steam.
"For current players, we created a new achievement. Good Guy Nick - – 'Plays games with free weekend players and helps them survive a campaign.' Who is a free weekend player? You’re going to have to talk to each other to find out or you could always let your friends know Left 4 Dead 2 is going to be free this weekend and have them join you," Valve says.
The free to play version ends on Monday, October 29, at 10 AM PDT.

Left 4 Dead 2 improves on the 1st one in every aspect. I love that game and it is really hard to find a game that does Co-op so well. If you are online playing versus and you don't talk and work together as much as possible, you're DEAD. Those 2 titles are definitely a couple of my favorites for this console/PC generation.
Sweet. Now that Killing Floor is $5, and hopefully this drops down to $5 sometime soon, I'll be set for zombie games! Though, honestly, I want L4D2 more than Killing Floor.. but KF looks fun. Dunno.
Never been a huge L4D2 person. Played it online, but prefer games that are fun offline as well.
I'm happy for people getting to try the game, but since I'm having a Dead Space Livestream on Xfire this Friday, that means I might not get as many viewers...
hope they make it permanent free to play. LOL
Too bad my laptop can't run it. -__-
Bring on the noobs! lol jk I guess I better not expect to much from my teammates this week.
All my friends own this game so I don't know anyone who can take advantage :(
