Looking For Our Medal Of Honor: Warfighter Review?

Due to the massive day one patch for the game, we were not given an advanced copy of Medal of Honor: Warfighter to review. We have the retail disc in our hands as we speak, and will post the review once we finish the campaign and spend enough time in multiplayer to weigh judgment.

If you're looking to kill time before our impressions are posted, check out a few trailers and our hands-on experience with the Warfighter multiplayer from E3.

  • That whole patch scares me. I'm doubting the quality of this title.
  • Actually, I didn't even know when the game was coming out

  • Was wondering about that.  I heard somewhere that they weren't pre-releasing Warfighter out to reviewers...kinda lame. :/

  • Gone are the days when you can buy a game and just start playing...
  • That's a poor decision on EA side.  I don't take every review GI does as law, but It does help me make make up my mind on games like this which I'm on the fence about buying.

  • Hmm, massive, eh? That doesn't sound good...

  • I hope this title does better than the last MoH.

  • I'm not concerned by this. Regardless, it will be a solid title. I care a whole lot more about the campaign than the multiplayer, and MoH does a campaign better than just about every other military shooter.
  • I would really like to know how big the patch is? I'm guessing it will get a 8 1/2.

  • Yeah, never had high hopes for this one. Loved MoH in the past, but series doesn't really exist anymore.

  • a massive patch to fix what?? all of multiplayer? the beta was horrible.

  • Massive day one patch.... makes me glad I dumped my preorder awhile back.  Good ol' ea........... :|

  • I'm staying away from this. I really don't think they could revive this franchise, unless they go back to WWII.
  • That sucks :/ Hope its up soon..

  • A game should be reviewed the way it's sold. If they can't manage to put all the data on the CD, it's their problem. Stop selling us unfinished products EA...
  • At least we have ac3 to look forward to.

  • Every time a game is released prematurely to meet an unrealistic launch date (Warfighter) to capitalize on seasonal sales or to appease investors (Diablo III), it's a tragedy. These games obviously have massive potential... they're just being rushed out due to financial circumstance. Will these games eventually become what they were supposed to be from the start after enough post-launch support (patching)? Yes. Will the vast majority of consumers consider this greater picture? Unlikely. What makes these publishing decisions tragic is the permanent damage it will do to, not just the game in question, but to the whole franchise as well as the developer.

The outcry about patching in general on the other hand is something I struggle sympathize with, merely because every piece of technology I or my family has owned since 1997 that had online capability was wired in. Most any software (or firmware for that matter) on the planet will have version updates... it's a necessary cycle of technology.

Understand that NO amount of quality assurance will EVER result in an airtight "Version 1.0". Then consider the many moving pieces of the machine; Where project funding comes from, who developers ultimately answer to - for starters.

At least TRY to understand the big picture before getting up in arms about necessary process or before casting aside a game before you've even got your hands on it... sheesh.
  • every one should stop giving EA *** about this. the fact that theres a day 1 patch is danger closes fault cause they made a *** game. EA is just doing whats best for business and you cant blame them for that. in my opinion the game should have been delayed until february.
  • I am sure this game will bomb big time. I wish they would make something worth playing.
  • Everytime you put in a new game, Be it Darksiders 2, Warfighter, Street Fighter X Tekken they all have an update. The fact that this one is so big isn't really a big deal. The things that they are fixing are things that people really complained about in MW3. If you don't want the game don't buy it but don't make up reasons to complain and not buy it. This is a Mature rated title, sure is a lot of immaturity about it.
