My Three Favorite Video Game Crossovers

by Ben Reeves on Oct 17, 2012 at 01:51 PM

Earlier today Warner Bros. announced that it would include the Mario cast in the Wii U version of Scribblenauts Unlimited. This isn't the first time that we've seen a video game mish mash. Here are some of my favorite video game crossovers.

3. Steamboat Willie Kingdom Hearts II
I'm not sure if this is cheating because Kingdom Hearts is pretty much a giant crossover game, but one of the most memorable levels from the series has always been Steamboat Willie. I love classic Disney cartoons and seeing the zany black and white world of Steamboat Willie recreated in Kingdom Hearts was a real treat.

2. Link in Soul Caliber II
Legend of Zelda is one of my favorite video game series of all time, so when I heard that Link was going to be in one of my favorite fighting game franchises, I nerded out. To my delight, he was not only fun to play, he was also one of the game's better characters. I made good use of his spin attack and his cheap ring out throws.

1. Spider-Man in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
This was like the perfect storm. Spider-Man is my favorite superhero, and I was completely addicted to the Tony Hawk games, especially back in early 2000. Spider-Man was the ideal unlockable for me. Not only did he have great stats, but he used his webbing to spin the board around for some amazing tricks.

Those are some of my favorites. What are yours?
