Skyrim Update 1.8 Now Live

Update: Bethesda says update 1.8 is now on Xbox Live. "When we have more information on it’s release for other territories (and the PlayStation 3), we will provide an update."

-------------------------

Original Story: Bethesda is still patching The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The latest 1.8 patch entered beta and is now available to download through Steam.

Below are the bugs being addressed in the update:

  • General memory and stability improvements
  • Fixed rare crash when using vampiric grip
  • Fixed issue where Arnleif and Sons Trading Company could become permanently locked
  • Fixed issue related to duplicate NPCs
  • Fixed rare issue where exterior door would not open properly

This update will later arrive on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Bethesda says.

  • this is what happens when you release half a game.
  • As many issues and quest-breaking glitches this game has had, it still is one of the most fascinating, immersive titles I have ever played. Then again, I didn't play it on PS3, thankfully.
  • Can't wait until they fix a lot of the Dawnguard bugs.

  • I've played a lot of Skyrim but I have never ran into these bugs.
  • I don't wanna hear **** about Skyrim unless it has to do with dlc coming to PS3.
  • Sweet just talked to Matt Grandstaff and they will be announcing new content shortly.
  • Galde to see a few of the problems that I had.

  • why are all these good games coming out at the same time. i cant wait until i get another break from school, so i can catch up on my gaming. :(
  • The update will arrive at a later date on Xbox 360 and at a much, MUCH later date on the Playstation 3. - Bethesda
  • when the ps6 and xbox 390x690=269100 come out skyrim will still be getting patched.
  • I'm not saying they didn't put a lot of work into what they DID get done, but you don't release a game in the condition skyrim is and use "oh it's a big game" as an excuse. If you're working on a game as big as this you hire more play-testers(you KNOW they noticed these bugs before release since most of them were obvious from the start.) and you take as much time and delay it for as long as you have to in order to ensure you're releasing a complete, POLISHED product. I want to make games in the future, that's what I'm going to college for and I'd rather my games never see the light of day than release one like this and say it's finished. Sorry for the block of text.
  • 'Round & 'round we go, eh, Bethesda?

  • Bethesda is squashing some bugs!

  • Lol I just ran into the duplicate NPC bug. It was terrifying. First there were 2 of them, then three, then four. Then I'm off on the road heading to Windhelm, I see a man fighting a spider, I kill the spider, go to talk the NPC. IT'S THE SAME GUY!!!
  • WOW!!! That's like 1/18753th of the bugs in Skyrim!!!! Keep up the good work Bugthesda. If you keep working like this maybe the game will come out of beta testing by the year 4866!!!!
  • Keep up the good work BGS!

  • That Luis Letrush dude cloning dozens of himself near the Whiterun Stables gets kinda annoying. Good thing their patching it.
  • Arnleif and Sons Trading Company is permanently locked on one of my character saves. I was wondering why but now I know that it's a bug. Thanks Bethesda. Keep up the good work.
  • Yes, I have been having some of thoose problems lately.

  • I hate how people always give hate on bethesda for not fixing all the bugs I mean a game that big takes more than 3 years to make without all the fixes, if you want them to come out iwth a bug free game then it would take alot longer so give bethesda some credit for creating one of the biggest open world games out there
