Tomb Raider Pre-order Bonuses Revealed

Don't you just love retailer pre-order bonuses? Tomb Raider is getting an assortment of items depending on what retailer you decide to shop at. Amazon is offering a character skin, art book, and The Final Hours of Tomb Raider for the Kindle Fire. Best Buy is offering a skin and comic book. GameStop is offering a new location from the game.

Tomb Raider is out March 5. Click the images below for a full-size version.

  • Ehhhhhh.
  • not sure which I prefer, Amazon or Gamestop
  • The pre-order bonuses seem decent so far. I'll probably get the Gamestop version :)

  • Amazon and Best Buy's are up my alley. I wonder what Future Shop will bring to the party. Steel case is always a nice incentive. I want the art book. But I want the aviatrix outfit. WHAT DO?!
  • Oh, and of course they all have that little countdown bubble on the bottom left. Looks like there's more content coming, too. This is mean.
  • I hate having to choose which one to get. The same thing happened with Gears 3. That was rather annoying.
  • These seem kinda weak for a revamp of tomb raider. The challenge tomb would probably be released as a dlc later anyways
  • There's nothing I hate more than retailer exclusive pre-order bonuses. I refuse to pre-order games pretty much always, but even when I'm super hyped on a game and considering it (Assassin's Creed 3) these things makes me decide against it on principle.
  • at first i was more excited for the Amazon deal but then i found that the art book is just 32 pages.. basically as thick as a comic book... so i'll probably get the gamestop copy

  • I'll probably go with GameStop.  The art books are pretty cool, but this provides more gameplay content.

  • Gamestops sounds good but ill wait for something else.

  • I really hate this concept, I didn't mind it in Fallout New Vegas due to the size of the game but I will mind it with this game.

  • Really? Are retailers really gonna force a gamer to choose which one he/she should preorder from? Ugh! I hate this! Every one of them offers legit stuff. I want all this stuff...
  • GameStop wins again, no surprise there.

  • Amazon seems like the best choice.

  • No, I really don't.

  • Maybe this is silly, but since I dislike this pre-order setup I no longer pre-order games when there's some bonus. An artbook sounds cool, though. But it wouldn't affect my enjoyment of the game.

Besides, what if the game turns out to suck (which I doubt, but could happen)? Are you going to be happy to have that artbook for a game you don't like? Or how about the pre-orders that come with soundtracks... which is pointless if you're not thrilled by the game's music (which you can't know until you get it).
  • I follow the $; who's going to give me $ (usually a gift-cert) back?

I'm looking at you Best Buy and Amazon!

As far as bonus tchotchkes, art books/comics are better than special skins or mp maps.
  • I don't like choosing; why can't all the places get the same thing? I don't see how doing it this way makes any difference to the people putting out the game.
  • umm cool...
