The lights are on
Bethesda Softworks announced the opening of a new game development studio in Austin, Texas called Battlecry Studios. Battlecry is headed by Rich Vogel, who formally served as executive producer on Star Wars: The Old Republic at BioWare. He also worked on Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies.
“I have always admired and respected Bethesda’s approach to making great, original games,” Vogel says. “It’s a belief and passion I share, and I’m looking forward to building a team of high quality developers who want to bring that same commitment and creative energy to the games we’ll be creating.”
“We are very pleased to have someone with Rich’s vast experience join us at Bethesda,” said Bethesda Softworks president Vlatko Andonov. “Rich has a history of building and managing talented development teams and bringing high quality games to market, and we look forward to working with him on a new exciting project.”
There are currently no details about what type of game Battlecry is making. A job posting, however, notes that candidates require "a strong passion for games and excellent knowledge of FPS’s and RPG’s." Other job listings say the game is coming to "PC and next generation products."
Wonder when the first game is going to come out
Can I trade my two nieces for a job there? <- These are the types of questions that need to be answered guys.
i hope its a studio working on the next gen TES games while bgs works with the current engine to make fallout 4, they launched oblivion within the first year of the xbox360's lifespan. it makes sense, and leaves BGS free for other projects.
look at the name "BATTLECRY" it must be symbolic. lol
Sweet! I'm a big fan of they work.
Great, now start making a Fallout MMO. At least Rich knows not what to do with an MMO, so that's a start right there.
