Sony Disappointed In Vita's Third Party Support

by Kyle Hilliard on Sep 30, 2012 at 05:20 AM

In a recent interview with Gamastura, Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida was about as candid as you could expect an executive to be about Vita's disappointing sales.

There are the expected quotes from Yoshida in the interview like, "PS Vita is the best hardware to bring a very immersive game experience onto portable," but he also talks about the lack of third party developer support for the handheld that's struggling to find a foothold. "One thing that was surprising and disappointing to us was the [lower] number of third parties to come out [in support] after launch," said Yoshida.

In regards to fixing the problem and bringing in more developers Yoshida said, "We've been working harder with our third party relations department to secure more content for PS Vita. We are confident that we have the right hardware platform that we have with PS Vita."
