Mass Effect 1 Coming To PS3, New Trilogy Bundle Announced

EA said today the original Mass Effect is coming to PlayStation 3 as part of a new trilogy bundle that includes all three games from the series. The first Mass Effect was previously only released on PC and Xbox 360 since it was published by Microsoft.

The bundle is due out on November 6 for Xbox 360 and PC and "at a later date" for PlayStation 3 and costs $59.99, EA says. The first game is also being offered as a download through PlayStation Network and includes trophy support.

EA has not said whether or not the collection includes all previously released download content.

I have two collector's editions of 1,2 and three already. Still, totally getting this. Curse my lack of being able to resist anything Mass Effect related!

Edit: Does this mean that ME1 is coming to the PS3 as well? Microsoft published this first, so I'd imagine that's what the delay for the PS3 version is for.

Edit Again: Must have skipped over that little part. This is good news for PS3 users who were left with just the comic. Sovereign and Saren are two of the greatest villains of this generation.

That's a great deal for people who haven't played Mass Effect series yet. Glad that PS3 players will finally get their hands on the first game. By far the best of the series in terms of story, RPG elements, and game atmosphere.

That is awesome. But I do have to question the timing and some things. Is the DLC for one and two being included? If so, what about 3. I believe there will be a couple more to be released. And I figured they'd release a collection like this when all DLC for ME3 was done.

. Is Mass Effect 1 an HD remake? Sony is going all in with these trilogy collections (Killzone, god of War, Mass Effect, Ratchet and Clank, Jounrey). It's an interesting strategy to just re brand and repackage older goods but I hope it works for them.
