Rayman's Successful Leap To Mobile In Rayman Jungle Run

by Ben Hanson on Sep 19, 2012 at 09:00 AM

If you're looking for a beautiful mobile platformer, or just can't wait for Rayman Legends on the Wii U, you'll want to take a look at Rayman Jungle Run for iOS and Android. Despite lifting some art assets and music from last year's stellar Rayman Origins, Rayman Jungle Run is a new game that has the titular mascot automatically running and simplifies the controls down to one button.

As you progress through the game you learn new abilities that shake up the basic platforming such as flying, wall running, and punching. The controls work surprisingly well and Rayman navigates through the complex levels without frustrating the player. The game encourages players to collect Lums and compete with friends through leaderboards on speed runs.

Currently available for $2.99 on iOS and releasing on Android tomorrow, Rayman Jungle Run is a gorgeous, simplified platformer and an easy recommendation for anybody looking for a richer experience from the auto-run genre.
