The lights are on
EA has officially announced the latest installment of the Dragon Age series, Dragon Age III: Inquisition. The game is due out in late 2013.
BioWare's Edmonton and Montreal studios are developing the game, using EA's Frostbite 2 engine. The game has been in development for two years.
“We’ve been poring over player feedback from past games and connecting directly with our fans," said Aaryn Flynn, general manager of BioWare Edmonton and BioWare Montreal. "They haven’t held back, so we’re not either. With Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, we want to give fans what they’re asking for – a great story with choices that matter, a massive world to explore, deep customization and combat that is both tactical and visceral.”
EA says the Dragon Age series has sold over eight million copies total, which makes this announcement all the more obvious. The was also word of a survey last month that included leaks about potential titles (including Inquisition), and an interview with BioWare CEO Ray Muzyka talking about plans for a then-hypothetical sequel. There's no word yet on what platforms the game is being developed for.

Hope it is better than DA2, this game is on my radar though.
I am so flipping excited! I hope it allows me to be a knife ear again.
Yay! that's all.
I'm excited for this. Fingers crossed that they keep their word.
There a lot of people who enjoy the Dragon Age franchise. I only played Origins and I didn't think that it was very good. Did I play the wrong game in the franchise, or am I just missing the magic so many others see?
Hopefully they'll let me out into the world this time instead of making me play medieval sheriff. DA2 was awful.
Well, since the first game is still in my backlog I'll reserve judgment/excitement until I play it.
Definately. I am very excited for this. Everyone knows that DA2 should have been better. If they now use the good things from DA2 with the many good things from DA:O (which is to date still an awesome game) and put in MORE good things... i suppose it has to be good?
I've been waiting for this announcement! I really hope they're able to meet the high standards they've set this time around.
the only reason im happy is that edmonten is doin gthis on. (mass effect studio)
Wasn't the last one bad?
Excited I am.
