The lights are on
EA has officially announced the latest installment of the Dragon Age series, Dragon Age III: Inquisition. The game is due out in late 2013.
BioWare's Edmonton and Montreal studios are developing the game, using EA's Frostbite 2 engine. The game has been in development for two years.
“We’ve been poring over player feedback from past games and connecting directly with our fans," said Aaryn Flynn, general manager of BioWare Edmonton and BioWare Montreal. "They haven’t held back, so we’re not either. With Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, we want to give fans what they’re asking for – a great story with choices that matter, a massive world to explore, deep customization and combat that is both tactical and visceral.”
EA says the Dragon Age series has sold over eight million copies total, which makes this announcement all the more obvious. The was also word of a survey last month that included leaks about potential titles (including Inquisition), and an interview with BioWare CEO Ray Muzyka talking about plans for a then-hypothetical sequel. There's no word yet on what platforms the game is being developed for.

Hmm... I liked the first game, and thought the second was just "ok", I'll hold back on judging this until I see something from it. For now, I'll just have high hopes that they deliver a great game.
Late 2013 man thats around the lines of the new systems planned release dates. Oh boy
Can't wait for this game! It's also my wife's favorite series. :)
I didn't expect this inquisition
I'm excited but also wish to hear more soon hopefully
I've heard the "choices that matter" line before.
The first two games had their share of flaws, but I love the Dragon Age universe and story. I'm really excited for the third installment.
I played the second dragon age and liked it, so I'm definitely looking forward to this one
I wouldn't mind if they changed the combat system, it sucked in DAO, it looked better in DA2 but was mostly the same thing. After playing games like Witcher and The Last Story, there is little reason they cant have a better combat system. Also I think an open world would be great for this game.
Hopefully they go back to what made DA:O great and just personal opinion here, go back to the graphics of the first game. Dragon Age 2's visuals didn't fit the series at all and werne't very good in general. It's also nice to see that they they are taking their time on this one, unlike the EXTREMELY rushed DA2.
