GameStop Closes Pre-Orders For Wii U Deluxe Set

Update: After opening up pre-orders for Nintendo's new console immediately after Thursday's press conference, GameStop has already filled its quota for the $349.99 bundle.

It looks like the Basic bundle is still available for pre-order.

On the heels of the release date announcement from Nintendo, GameStop has opened preorders for both versions of the Wii U. In addition, announced games including ZombiU, New Super Mario Bros. U, and Call of Duty Black Ops II are also available.

The console can be ordered in one of two options. The Basic Set costs $299.99, and includes an 8 GB white Wii U and white Wii U GamePad. The Deluxe Set will run you $349.99, and it includes a 32 GB black Wii U, a black Wii U GamePad, GamePad Cradle, Wii U console stand, and pack-in title Nintendo Land.

GameStop is offering trade-in bonuses for any older game systems you're ready to get rid of, with additional trade-in value on each system trade for PowerUp Rewards members.

Just Pre-ordered mine! It's only a $25 deposit if you are a PowerUp Rewards Member which I bet most of us on here are. Love the fact you don't have to split screen for CoD.

Already got mine pre-ordered with 3 games. Aliens colonial marines, call of duty black ops, and Zombie U. Will be buying Madden and 2K 13 as well. There are a ton of games in the launch window, wallets definitely going to be hurting.

My wife is not going to let me buy one right now because we never play our Wii. I will for sure get one for the next Zelda though, unless another must have game comes out sooner for the Wii U... They never changed that name huh? Oh well...

I'm definitely going to do this as soon as I get off work, but I have one question for anyone reading this: How do I get my downloaded games off of my Wii and to the Wii U? As far as I know, there is no Nintendo account on my Wii, right? At least I don't think there is, so wouldn't all of the games I've bought be lost in the switch? Or can I use an SDHC card and transfer them? Thanks for any help, guys. Oh, actually, does anyone know how much Gamestop will give for a Wii? Assuming it's the same price nation-wide.

Meh I'll wait till a real Mario and Zelda game come out. I already am getting a 3DS for my son for X-mas so I think that's enough for now
