Insomniac Lights The Fuse In New Trailer

The upcoming shooter features the crazy weapons the studio is known for, along with a futuristic, more mature tone.

Insomniac has released a new trailer for its upcoming shooter, Fuse, which shows off some of the game’s weaponry. As you might expect from the studio, the arsenal is filled with creative weapons that suck enemies into voids, melt them into slurry, and generally make them miserable. Also, giant robots.

You can see all the over-the-top action in the trailer below. Look for the game this March on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

  • This game is looking real good to me.

  • This game looks freaking awesome. Amazing trailer!

  • The game looks great, but where's the humor?
  • The original trailer looked better (same crazy over-the-top weapons, but a brighter color scheme and it didn't take itself seriously: the game characters themselves were pumped up to 11 in their special personalities, and acted as if everything was a joke).
  • Man, the new art direction has really sapped all the personality out of it. Consider me much less excited.

  • Though it still looks cool, I wish they kept it as Overstrike. Looked a lot more interesting. The way it is now just looks somewhat generic.

  • Hmm... the video isn't showing up for me. I'm sure it's amazing though. It is Insomniac after all.

  • Where'd the personality go? That's the reason I became interested in Overstrike. I'm still willing to give this game a go but if it proceeds without the vibrancy and all-in-good-fun attitude I'll probably just play Halo 4.
  • I'm really disappointed about this.  Overstrike looked so compelling because it brought Insomniac's trademark humor to the forefront, along with the awesome weapons and the promise of some explosive co-op action.  This new direction for the game looks generic in every sense of the word, save for the weapons themselves.  Where did the style go?

  • Like the original look more

  • Looks like another solid co-op game. Would have liked the previous "light-hearted" approach before, but can't complain after that trailer.

  • It's like the reverse of the art style switch from Borderlands: From quirky, light-hearted and cartoony to gritty, serious and generic.

  • I kinda like the other trailer better. I still think this looks good, and I'll be playing it. But.. Where's the humor?
  • I think I liked the tone better when it was Overstrike, but it still looks like fun. A little like Borderlands.

  • Run around shooting endless swarms of identical bad guys. Just like every other game ever made these days. Soooo sick of it. Just give me dishonored already please. at least its trying
  • Well I must concur with my peers on this one. The artistic style seems to have been muted through development. I just watched the original trailer and the newer iteration is somewhat lacking. However, I am confident Insomniac can produce a solid game. Even more excited that they have significant background creating games for the PS3, so even though it's multi-platform, PS3 fans won't be cheated. Definitely looking forward to some great co-op action.
  • Looks quite good, but I liked the initial concept a lot better. I'll have to pass now.

  • I love it! The weapons are a lot like Ratchet and Clank lol true Insomniac style
  • Looks uninspired and third person tacky.. and gimmicky.. and like something i've seen before a million times. Do not want. Does the world really need another focused on coop shooter? Pretty sure BL2 has me covered for the next couple years.
  • An Insomniac game? ON THE XBOX?! Well, there's a bit of a change...
