The lights are on
Don't get too excited about buying a bunch of Wii U gamepads. Nintendo just confirmed that it won't be selling its controllers separately at launch in North America.
What, you wanted more information? It sounds like you probably won't need more that one controller. Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime clarified that none of the Wii U launch games will support the use of more than one controller at launch. The Wii U pro controller (the one without the screen) will cost $49.99.

My tendency to throw the controller has apparently met its end. I hope.
I am not sure how I feel about this...
My guess, $119.99+minigames for the ProScreen Controller.
Well I guess I'll just have to remember to keep it out of small child\puppies grubby mitts then. Gonna be harder said than done honestly
I hope they come out with a Wii U tablet XL that is the size of a coffee table and requires a special harness to wear
Also Wii-U sounds like a police siren noise, as a brief aside
Does it come with a Pro controller? Because they royally *** up the Wiimote's design and I'd like to actually be able to play pro games for pro gamers such as myself.
Interesting, but stupid. Why wouldn't you want to sell them right away? Unless there isn't enough gamepads manufactured, or they want to wait and see if they need to tweak anything with it.
How can you ***** about this!? You can't use any games to support 2 touch screen controllers so why fuss about not being able to buy one. That's like fussing because you can't buy a PS4 or 720 RIGHT NOW!
Sounds strange, this really does not support split screen multiplayer, and we better hope none of our controllers break before then.
Thats cool I can wait until 2013. Im getting a White and Black pro controller this year sooo...
Well now, that stinks. I wonder how much the screen-enabled version costs.....
