Rumor: Wii U Release Date And Price Leaked By Distributor?
A new report, based on a now-removed YouTube video, has the Wii U launching a week earlier than speculated -- and with three different price points.
NintendoLife claims to have seen a YouTube video (now removed by the user) that showed a price list from company called Video Product Distributors, which supplies games and hardware to such retailers as Amazon.com, Blockbuster, and Overstock.com
The list, which was allegedly pictures in the video, showed a release date for the Wii U of 11/11/12 -- a week earlier than previously reported.
It also showed three separate SKUs for the Wii U, beginning at $249.99:
- WIIU SYSTEM - GM - 11/11/12 $249.99
- WIIU SYSTEM W/ - GM - 11/11/12 $299.99
- WIIU SYSTEM 349 W/ - GM - 11/11/12 $349.99
It's assumed that the higher price points include additional pack-in merchandise like games or extra GamePads.
