Tera Servers Being Merged

by Jim Reilly on Sep 04, 2012 at 11:50 AM

En Masse Entertainment announced plans to merge the North American servers for its action-mmo TERA on September 18. 11 servers will become three: one PvE, one PvP, and one regular server.

This change does not affect the European servers, which are run by Gameforge.

"Where some might look on this as a negative, I feel differently. By combining our servers, we facilitate a more unified community and give players a more full, alive world where finding groups, locating rare items (for lower prices!), and getting into dungeons quickly are the norm," says producer Chris Hager.

"Most importantly, combined servers will allow us to run more regular, player-focused events where we get to interact with our players." Also towards the end of September, you'll be able to participate in player-focused events. There's also Halloween events in October.

"Other plans include a battlegrounds tournament in November and a holiday in-game event during the winter months to help us end 2012 with a bang," Hager says. "Along with this focus on player engagement and events, we’ll also be having several content updates throughout the fall."
