The lights are on
The fan created Half-Life remake, Black Mesa, has been in development for quite some time, and it looks like we will finally be able to get our hands on it a little bit later this month.
A countdown timer has appeared on blackmesasource.com pointing to something happening in about 12 days, and a posting on the game's message boards by the project leader confirms a September 14 release date.
The release on September 14 won't be the full game, but it is a large portion of the experience. It will be everything up to the Lambda core, which is approximately the first eight hours of the game.
You can also go ahead and grab the soundtrack for the game with the pay whatever you want pricing structure.

This is neat, glad to see it didn't fall through.
Awesome! I"m gonna to need to pick this one up comes out.
I'm honestly surprised. I checked up on the project earlier this year and the folks behind it gave every indication of a 2013 (or later) release. I know this upcoming release isn't the full game, but still.
Now watch as the source code gets leaked and the game gets delayed another year.
Honestly, I never thought this would be released. I wonder when the rest of it will be up?
will it be on steam? and i hope its exe
Sweet. This sounds like a reason to finally play Half-Life.
Can;t wait to see what these guys did! Perhaps Valve or someone else can hook them up with a job. ^_^
Been waiting for this since that trailer back in 2009. Can't wait to play this.
Hooray! I've been waiting to play this forever.
Maybe I should've waited for this before playing the original Half-Life. But then the Super Replay would've ruined it for me, oh well.
