Japan's Final Fantasy Collection Inspires Jealousy

In honor of Final Fantasy's 25th anniversary, Japan is getting a comprehensive (and expensive) special edition collection of Final Fantasy games.

The collection includes every Final Fantasy game, except for XIV, X-2, and XIII-2, and a number bonus discs all for about $450. Square-Enix hasn't offered any hints about a North American release, so start saving up for the import, and start learning Japanese.

Here's everything included in the collection:

Final Fantasy (PS1, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy II (PS1, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy III (PSP, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy IV (PS1, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy V (PS1, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy VI (PS1, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy VII International (PS1, 4 discs)
Final Fantasy VIII (PS1, 4 discs)
Final Fantasy IX (PS1, 4 discs)
Final Fantasy X (PS2, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy XI Vana'diel Collection 2 (PS2, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy XII (PS2, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, 1 disc)

Non-game additions:

Special anniversary video disc
Crystal ArtWorks -- an anniversary visual art collection
A two disc anniversary music selection CD
Final Fantasy XIV Mogu Mogu Earring item code
Mini replica of Amano FF 25th Anniversary visual and stand

While it does cost a pretty penny, it'd be worth it to me because I haven't played a majority of the Final Fantasy games. I want it soooooooo much. :O

Does the ff VII set include the crisis core and dirge of cerberus games as well then since they weren't mentioned as part of the exemption?

What is the point of this collection if you don't have a PS1 or PS2? They should have put them all on a couple of PS3 discs.

For everyone questioning the price, that's just the Yen to Dollar conversion. If it really came out over here it'd have to be much less.

I love pretty much all gaming but have never played any of these. When by brother was 16 and i was 7, (18 now) he had a ps1 witha FF game. I tried playing them but they froze all the time. It had something like a hospital bed or some one waking up in the begining, any one care to tell me which one that is? On seprete note I shoould get this to try the ENTIRE thing out. Just need to fix psp and get a ps3...... and probably alot of time....
