The lights are on
In a somewhat cryptic posting on the official Dawnguard message boards, Bethesda said that the technical issue preventing Dawnguard on PlayStation 3, "is not a problem we’re positive we can solve." Here's the full statement:
It's been a few weeks, and we wanted to make sure everyone knows where
we're at with Dawnguard. Skyrim is a massive and dynamic game that
requires a lot of resources, and things get much more complex when
you're talking about sizable content like Dawnguard. We have tried a
number of things, but none of them solve the issue enough to make
Dawnguard good for everyone. The PS3 is a powerful system, and we're
working hard to deliver the content you guys want. Dawnguard is
obviously not the only DLC we’ve been working on either, so the issues
of adding content get even more complicated. This is not a problem we’re
positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to
bring you this content.
We wish we had a more definitive answer right now. We understand the
frustration when the same content is not available on all platforms.
When we have an update, we will certainly let you know. We deeply
appreciate all the time and support you have given us, and we’ll keep
doing our best to return that.
It's not a flat-out "no" in regards to Dawnguard and future DLC appearing on PlayStation 3, but it's not looking good.

Thats a pity, it really is.
But i think theyll find a way to release it in the end.
Okay, I have a PS3 and haven't even gotten Dawnguard yet, but I would think they would make sure that they could make the DLC function on both systems before they announced that the DLC would be on both systems, so this is a major disappointment. Also, the PS3 is a more powerful system than the 360, so I wonder what kind of issue they're having that they could make Dawnguard on the 360 and not on the PS3. I understand that there are other issues besides processing power to be considered when making games, but I still wonder what the issue is.
For the love of Talos, what the hell is going on!?
I stopped playing on PS3 once I upgraded my PC. The game runs so much better it's shocking. Hoping PS3 gets Dawnguard but I wouldn't hold my breath...and wouldn't count on it working like it's supposed to. Very disappointing.
Ohhh, that's just unfortunate.
Honestly, I do feel bad for the ps3 gamers. But I have some advice
Get and xbox 360, and before I get comments let me explain. Both consoles are very good, but don't get the xbox to replace you're ps3. I'm not saying this so you can go get an xbox just for skyrim. Each system has fantastic games just for each console. If you save up for an xbox you can play other games that you couldn't on ps3 like Halo, the Fable series, and various other xbox only games. Ps3 has fantasitc rpg games that xbox doesn't and has the blu-ray camability. There are actually very few multiple disk games for xbox (especialy now a days) I've only owned two multi-disk games, and when it's time to switch a disk, it's honestly so simple I felt stupid for dreading to change disks. By having both consoles, you open your gaming world up 50% more than before. If a game comes out and has special content for one of the systems, get the game for that system and if another game has special content for the other console, you can get that one too.
I am sorry if you can't afford to save up for the other console, I really can't think of a solution to that.
Well sucks to have a PS3 for this game. But don't worry, I still haven't bought this on my Xbox cause I'm not paying $20 for DLC that I feel doesn't add much
My condolences for all my PS3 brethren out there.
bethesda needs to get their *** together it's way too far imto the ps3 lifecycle to still be having coding problems
Good thing I have it for PC and PS3.
HA HA HA HA HA.This is very amusing.
I already sold my copy of Skyrim for the PS3 months ago so I don't give a sh*
Fine. I wouldn't buy it anyway. I absolutely loved Bethesda before this whole Skyrim trouble, but now I promise I won't buy another game from them anywhere near launch just to be sure it works since they either don't playtest themselves, or just don't care what their playtesters say. Skyrim is the one major game I have regretted buying recently because I hate supporting a company that either doesn't care enough, or is too incompetent to fix major performance issues. I got a platinum on it, but the damn thing froze my system up so many times, I was daily saving on a seperate HD in case Skyrim killed my PS3. Thanks Bethesda.
As an Xbox fanboy, I'm honestly disappointed in Bethesda for not granting this DLC to PS3 users yet.
Too bad. I thought Skyrim was a fun game, and the DLC was going to be a nice addition, but now I can spend my money elsewhere. Buh Bye Bethesda.
