The lights are on
In a somewhat cryptic posting on the official Dawnguard message boards, Bethesda said that the technical issue preventing Dawnguard on PlayStation 3, "is not a problem we’re positive we can solve." Here's the full statement:
It's been a few weeks, and we wanted to make sure everyone knows where
we're at with Dawnguard. Skyrim is a massive and dynamic game that
requires a lot of resources, and things get much more complex when
you're talking about sizable content like Dawnguard. We have tried a
number of things, but none of them solve the issue enough to make
Dawnguard good for everyone. The PS3 is a powerful system, and we're
working hard to deliver the content you guys want. Dawnguard is
obviously not the only DLC we’ve been working on either, so the issues
of adding content get even more complicated. This is not a problem we’re
positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to
bring you this content.
We wish we had a more definitive answer right now. We understand the
frustration when the same content is not available on all platforms.
When we have an update, we will certainly let you know. We deeply
appreciate all the time and support you have given us, and we’ll keep
doing our best to return that.
It's not a flat-out "no" in regards to Dawnguard and future DLC appearing on PlayStation 3, but it's not looking good.

Bethesda's PS3 Skyrim version is starting to SUCK!! My solution is if they can't deliver, I'll switch to the 360 version. I'm sorry to say guys, that I'm starting to lose faith with the developers here.
Well, let's be honest, PS3 and XBOX360 are almost the same on hardware. So, this problem is either a code thing or a microsoft money thing. And considering the way Bethesda is treating the DLC,it could be the second one, though i will choose the first one because they deserve a little trust. But, it's starting to @#~@# me off the fact that i have to wait a lot more for playing a DLC on PC, when the elder scrolls were born on that console. I just can't avoid thinking how more awesome Skyrim could have been if they made it for PC and not for consoles.
"I" don't even have Skyrim for Ps3 and "I" think this sucks.
im so glad i decided to help the ps3 sales instead of getting it for the 360, best decision ever
Thats a shame...i have it on the 360 but i still think everyone should play it....hopefully they can work on solving it in the goty where they can work on ALL bugs
So so sad.
I traded in Skyrim just yesterday because of all the PS3 issues I had. I was one of the "few" people who suffered game crippling lag. I was very excited for Dawnguard to come out, but now my fears are reassured. I was excited to hear about Hearthfire, but am near positive I wouldn't be getting it. The 25 bucks I got for it will be well spent on my Borderlands 2 XBox 360 preorder. Note: I am not hating on my PS3. I love my PS3 because of the great exclusive content, but I am quite aggravated that I bought skyrim for the PS3.
I was under the impression people stopped playing this attrocity on PS3 months ago.
Wow, that sounds like an excuse to me Microsoft claims 360 is better than Ps3 so why is it so hard to make things work for it. Maybe they should stop creating new DLC and focus on getting everything right for ALL of there loyal fans.
I don't even have a ps3 and i'm upset.
I think I'd they fix the issues first for the PS3 before they started adding DLC. Plus, I'd rather have Hearthfire than Dawngaurd, if that even happens...
I really hope it will be on PS3 i would be kinda sad if it wasnt able to come.
finally...something that benefits me as a 360 owner. sorry to those not able to play this
I got the game on PS3. Put, oh, about 250 hours in. Played through the ever expanding save files, the load freezes, the fps drops. Then I got to a glitched quest. Grant it, I had already beat the game, but I wanted to beat the Civil War portion. So, I did what I should have done in the first place. I put down my ps3 controller and bought it on PC. Didn't even resell the game, it's still in my library.
Anyone calling themselves a fan since Arena would have bought the game on PC, not on PS3.
