The lights are on
In a somewhat cryptic posting on the official Dawnguard message boards, Bethesda said that the technical issue preventing Dawnguard on PlayStation 3, "is not a problem we’re positive we can solve." Here's the full statement:
It's been a few weeks, and we wanted to make sure everyone knows where
we're at with Dawnguard. Skyrim is a massive and dynamic game that
requires a lot of resources, and things get much more complex when
you're talking about sizable content like Dawnguard. We have tried a
number of things, but none of them solve the issue enough to make
Dawnguard good for everyone. The PS3 is a powerful system, and we're
working hard to deliver the content you guys want. Dawnguard is
obviously not the only DLC we’ve been working on either, so the issues
of adding content get even more complicated. This is not a problem we’re
positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to
bring you this content.
We wish we had a more definitive answer right now. We understand the
frustration when the same content is not available on all platforms.
When we have an update, we will certainly let you know. We deeply
appreciate all the time and support you have given us, and we’ll keep
doing our best to return that.
It's not a flat-out "no" in regards to Dawnguard and future DLC appearing on PlayStation 3, but it's not looking good.

too late! New games are coming out and who really cares about this. These kind of issues should be resolved before a game even comes out. Bethesda was just trying to make a buck by misleading ps3 owners into believing that we all get the same game and same opportunities in our gameplay. I am sure they have known all along that this was a problem. thanks for nothing bethesda, I will be sure to check for bethesda's name on any future games to make sure I dont buy them.
If they don't release it for playstation3 this would be brashness, DLCs for all plattforms have been promised not just for xbox360 and pc. however, it finally pays off to spend money for xbox live haha
How did they get it on the 360 but not the PS3? To powerful my arse. If they're smart enough they'll figure it out. If not, to Hells with them. I don't understand. If this will be an ongoing problem with future games, then this will be the last Bethesda game I buy.
Unified memory pools have been a standard for so many years for a reason. *Facepalm*
I feel sorry for the entire PS3 community. This isn't cool at all. It's messed up but what can we do? We just gotta cross our fingers and hope that Dawnguard will eventually work in the future.
That would be a huge punch in the gut for PS3 gamers if the DLC never released.
Well, at least they're being honest.
Well, that sucks
I don't understand Bethesada's short sightedness in this matter. They are such an excellent company. And while thier product may be glitchy out of the box when neew, they do tend to fix their errors and delived a solid gaming experience.
So this is a mystery to me. One knows that there will be a GOTY edition of the title at some point. It looks to be as if the X-box and PC versions will be a better value should this DLC be omitted.
Today is Blue Moon. I hoping that it's just the pul of the moon affecting their thought process and that by tomorrow they will have seen the error of their ways. At least, that is what I hope.
Who gave this more than one star?
If this turns out to be true, I'll be REALLY ticked off.
"Whahahahahahaaaaa!!!!" Says the Xbox owner.
I'm sorry I could resist.
Well, if they do fix this mess.... FREE DAWNGUARD FOR PS3.
