The lights are on
In a somewhat cryptic posting on the official Dawnguard message boards, Bethesda said that the technical issue preventing Dawnguard on PlayStation 3, "is not a problem we’re positive we can solve." Here's the full statement:
It's been a few weeks, and we wanted to make sure everyone knows where
we're at with Dawnguard. Skyrim is a massive and dynamic game that
requires a lot of resources, and things get much more complex when
you're talking about sizable content like Dawnguard. We have tried a
number of things, but none of them solve the issue enough to make
Dawnguard good for everyone. The PS3 is a powerful system, and we're
working hard to deliver the content you guys want. Dawnguard is
obviously not the only DLC we’ve been working on either, so the issues
of adding content get even more complicated. This is not a problem we’re
positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to
bring you this content.
We wish we had a more definitive answer right now. We understand the
frustration when the same content is not available on all platforms.
When we have an update, we will certainly let you know. We deeply
appreciate all the time and support you have given us, and we’ll keep
doing our best to return that.
It's not a flat-out "no" in regards to Dawnguard and future DLC appearing on PlayStation 3, but it's not looking good.

This is flat-out pathetic.
That's understandable, because every other developer is having the exact same problems.
I know that it's tricky porting 360 games to the PS3, but everyone else seems to be able to cope with those sorts of problems quite well. I really do like Bethesdas games, they make RPG's precisely the way I like them, but the completely inexcusable way they've been handling the PS3 versions of their games for years now, is really starting to piss me off.
solution, buy an xbox.
I've been waiting for this DLC since its been announced and i would like to play it. I know they aren't going to make a ps3 exclusive DLC, but we better be getting Hearthfire though to keep me busy...
Skyrim is still my favorite game, but this is getting ridiculous
I've said this a hundred times and I'm going to say it again: Hearthfire for free on PS3!
I just want to say NO! And if Bethesda happens to read through these pages to see what customers want then I just have to say that they are one of my favorite companies and I love their games but if they can't deliver the DLC that looks so much fun to play then I'm gonna be a bit of a doubter for a while. Unless they can give me new Xbox since mine broke again....I'll settle for a free copy of the game on Xbox with free DLC though. Thank you
And this is just another reason why it's great to have a PS3 and an Xbox 360.
*sadface* I feel like Bethesda is releasing games on multiplatforms just to get extra sales and they are catering to the system they care for most.
