The lights are on
Kojima Productions and Columbia Pictures are bringing you a Metal Gear Solid movie, according to reports. Avi Arad (X-Men, Spiderman), is producing the film.
The announcement was made during today's Metal Gear 25th Anniversary presentation. "For many years I fought to bring comics to theaters - and video games are the comics of today," Arad said, as reported by John Ricciardi of 8-4 Ltd., a video game localization company based in Japan.
"We will take our time and tell the story with all the nuances, ideology, cautionary tales needed," Arad added.

I'll be surprised if this ever comes to fruition.
Imagine that. A movie about a game that is a movie in itself already. Nevertheless, I am seriously hoping it will turn out to be a better-than-good movie.
Here's hoping that it'll be halfway decent.
I understand fans of the series would like to see a movie adaptation but it is unlikely that it will be the positive experience fans are hoping for.
I'm actually hopeful about this production. You can do a lot of cool things with a Metal Gear Solid movie. The story might be convoluted, but the action and stealth sequences have the potential to be great.
Ohhh nooo... Who even has a chance as acting as Snake? I can't think of any males actors that can fill Snake shoes. Look at the Resident Evil movies... I'm really not a fan of those. Is there anybody here that do like RE movies?
Please dot mess this up this a be one of the hardest video game movies to make because of the fan following. If kojima himsef not doing the script and you dont have a actor to look like snake of big boss and if the voice not right its going to be horrible im hoping for the best tho
I'm really curious to see how this is handled. It could be really good or really really bad. I guess you can say that about all movies, but with a story already so well fleshed out, I'll be curious to see how this comes to fruition.
Doubt it'll ever actually happen.

As long as its not some pompous actor playing snake I see no problem. Cast an action star as him not some self absorbed *** like Christian Bale, Matt Damon, or George Clooney.

Today is a good day.
MGS is one of my favorite franchises so I'm more than a little hesitant about this given how video game movies generally turn out. However, if they involve Kojima and Avi Arad manages to be as successful with this is with X-Men and Spider-Man (hopefully even more so), it might turn out alright.
Let's hope it won't get cancelled.
Now for the movie to sit in limbo as the rest of the video game movies do.
Hopefully, directors have the guts to finish this movie, unlike others.
