The lights are on
A group of Super Mario Galaxy fans discontent with the existence of only two Galaxy titles, has decided to take matters into their own hands.
You can find out more about the project, and even download a demo for its work in progress title by heading to this website. Apparently the project still has a ways to go. In the trailer below, they put out a call for all manner of game designer that can help with the project.
I imagine with this sort of passion project you can count on it releasing basically when it's done, which could be anytime.

I wonder how they made this? on a side note, that music sounds like it's from One Piece, I don't think it is but it reminded me of it
Proving just how easy it is to make a mario game. Kind of Joking but not really. It's great that these guys are making a fan version of the game and that takes talent, but making a Super Mario Galaxy game (from Nintendo's studios) isn't since it's mostly reused textures, characters (how many new bad guys are there really in the Mario world since the 8-64 bit era?). The difference is the level layouts, maybe they recolor a texture here and there. But 90% of the assets are reused from the previous game.
This actually looks really good imho.
Doesn't Nintendo (sadly) aggressively pursue these sort of projects? I recall other fun fan projects that got C&Ds really quickly.
pretty cool. it seems as though galaxy 3 will definitely be on the wii u
It looks...good..I guess.I suppose iam just a little sick of galaxy....huh.Might just be me I suppose.
HD Bob-Omb Battlefield... :DDDD
ok, neat. There are obviously tons of talented people working on this. Maybe when their done with 2.5, they can make a new, original, game? (one that won't get them sued?)
That looks really good. These guys are obviously dedicated to their craft.
Wow!!! This is hecka impressive!!! Galaxy should totally hit the 3ds!
Everyone is saying how good it looks and how talented these fans are at development, but looking good and being good, or fun to play, are two completely different things. It's going to look good anyways, since they are using the art and graphics of a Nintendo game. Also, these guys are not Nintendo, and in the end this game won't compare to the rest of Galaxy 2.
inb4 cease and desist.
Looks cool. Fun way to be distracted until 3 comes out.
I am a huge fan of Super Mario Galaxy, and really anything that has to do with Mario. I think this looks like a great way to keep players entertained until the 3rd one eventually comes out. Looking forward to it.
