Celebrate 25 Years Of Final Fantasy At PAX

Square Enix will hold a special "Experience Final Fantasy" event on Friday, August 31 in Seattle from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the ACT Theatre in Seattle (700 Union Street). Fans will learn "new details about the direction of Lightning’s story."

This event takes place during the same time as the planned Final Fantasy event in Japan. It's believed Square Enix will make an announcement for Final Fantasy XIII-3 at this time, however it is still unconfirmed. There will be a video message from creators Yoshinori Kitase (producer), Motomu Toriyama (director) and Isamu Kamikokuryo (art director). The general public is able to attend.

There's also two concerts celebrating the music of Final Fantasy. The Chicagoland Pops Orchestra and Chorus will perform at the 25th Anniversary Distant Worlds: The Celebration concert of Final Fantasy music on Friday, December 7 at 8:00 p.m. at the Akoo Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. The Final Fantasy XI: 10th Anniversary Concert will be held on Saturday, September 22 at 8:00 p.m. at the Zellerback Auditorium in Berkeley, California.

As someone who actually likes XIII, this is good news. I'm hoping for Versus XIII to finally get a release date though. The playable characters of XIII are all interesting so seeing more of them would be nice.

A few things I'm looking for. Some FFX HD content, ANY kind of Versus announcement (please!), FF Type-0 English trailer and release date for the west, and sure...Why not a FFXIII-3 announcement as well? Go big or go home Square ^^

"Final Fantasy XIII-3" ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW, YOU FAILED AT THE LAST 2 GAMES OF THE XIII SERIES, ONLY GOOD THING THAT CAME OUTTA THIS IS THE BATTLE SYSTEM AND GRAPHICS. THE STORY AND OVERALL GAMEPLAY IS TERRIBLE.

I could easily seem them making a Final Fantasy XIII movie as opposed to Final Fantasy XIII-3. Something along the lines of Advent Children.

Only a few people from the original Squaresoft still exist in Square-Enix. It seems like Nobou Uematsu and Hironobu Sakaguchi should be there. Without the proper team, you are just really talking Final Fatnasy XII and on.

this leaves a sour taste in my mouth, knowing that this is probably all to announce the next FFXIII.. my god those games are terrible, i was shocked that they made 1 sequel, now another.. *** awful. if they announce a new final fantasy unrelated to other final fantasies (how it should be) then i will be interested

I really want a 13-3, loved the other two. Also versus 13. But think if you got a lot of the characters from final fantasy and put them in like a persona arena type game. That would be amazing.

They should release a book of concept art that goes back to the original Final Fantasy and up to whatever they might be just now imagining.

Like many others that have posted already, I'm really hoping they give us a worthwhile update on Final Fantasy Versus XIII at this event. I'm not going to get my hopes up though. I'm also hoping for more news on Final Fantasy X HD. I loved the original game and would love to play it again in HD. And I don't know how I feel about the imminent announcement of Final Fantasy XIII-3. I enjoyed the first two games but I was really hoping they were going to wrap up the story in XIII-2. Here's hoping they end it this time.
