No Vita Price Cut This Year

by Jim Reilly on Aug 16, 2012 at 10:32 AM

Sony worldwide president Shuhei Yoshida says it's too early to cut the price of the PlayStation Vita and instead the company will focus on adding value with new bundle packages for consumers. "People like cheap or free," Yoshida told Eurogamer. "Of course, cost reduction is one area our engineering team is working on. But we just launched the platform earlier this year. It takes time to do so.

"At a certain point in the future we would like to address the pricing issue for some of the people who are waiting. But this year we are trying to add value by creating different types of bundles.

To date, Sony has announced bundles packs for Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified, and LittleBigPlanet.
