Rumor: More Proof For Sackboy & Raiden In PlayStation All-Stars

by Kyle Hilliard on Aug 09, 2012 at 04:41 AM

Update: Fans of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will be excited that there is now more evidence bolstering a previous rumor regarding some of the game's combatants.

NeoGAF has spotted what may have been official images from the game's homepage featuring Sackboy and Raiden that have since been taken down.

Original Story: A series of images has appeared on Reddit showcasing characters and stages from Loco Roco, Heavenly Sword, BioShock Infinite, and others that could appear in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

There isn't a whole of evidence to substantiate the legitimacy of these images, especially the characters, but the stages certainly seem believable. You can see all the images below, and it looks like stages from Loco Roco, Infamous, Ape Escape, BioShock Infinte, Resistance, Killzone, and Twisted Metal may all be appearing in the game. A stage from LittleBigPlanet that has already been confirmed also appeared in the images.

As far as the characters go, there is an image showing 12 characters. Six of the featured characters, Heihachi, Toro, Jak, and Cole, have been shown before. The others are all new. The image is obscured slightly with the word "leak" repeated all over it, but it looks like Raiden from Metal Gear Solid, Dante from the upcoming Devil May Cry from Ninja Theory, Ratchet, Sack Boy, Spike from Ape Escape, Sir Daniel Fortesque from MediEvil, Nariko from Heavenly Sword, and either the evil version of Cole or Nathan Hale from Resistance as commenters discussing the leak online have theorized, may be appearing in the game.

Again, there is no evidence to prove that any of these assets are actually from PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, other than the stages look like they could be from the game, and the characters all seem like ones that could conceivably appear in Battle Royale. If these characters and stages do turn out to be genuinely from the game, Nariko from Heavenly Sword is my favorite new character. I really adore Heavenly Sword and have always been disappointed that it seemed to fall into obscurity after it released. I would love to see it receive some recognition by appearing in All-Stars.
