Epic Games Forms Impossible Studios

The creative minds behind Kingdoms of Amalur are now working with the creators of Gears of War. Epic has announced the formation of Impossible Studios, which brings together top industry minds, including the creative director Sean Dunn and much of the talent from the now defunct Big Huge Games. Impossible Studios joins the Epic family, bringing with them a history of making RTS and RPG games.

The first title to be released under the Impossible name will be Infinity Blade: Dungeons, a sequel to the wildly popular iOS game, Infinity Blade. Epic has described Impossible Studios as an all-star team of veteran game development talent. It will be exciting to see what they come up with in conjunction with Epic games.

  • That's cool. I like the logo too!

  • I wish they had a chance to make a game for consoles. Instead there going to work on infinty blade.

  • Nice to see the talent in the industry staying in the industry! :)

  • More Epic is always good. Now go make KOA 2!

  • Epic needs to buy Big Huge Games IPs for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and Project Copernicus from Rhode Island when they decide to sell them.

That would be a huge win for Epic Games and the people from Big Huge Games can continue to work on the franchise they created.

  • my love for epic only grows, never diminishes

  • I'll miss BHG, but Impossible sounds like they have a good team going for them as well now.

  • Is this what they're doing in Baltimore?

  • awsome, im glad great talent found a new home =D

  • Sweet! I was waiting for this. My biggest hope is that they're going to be doing some open-world RPG based off Infinity Blade. The armor designs and sheer level of epic-feeling would make one hell of an RPG.
