The lights are on
Former EA and Microsoft executive John Schappert resigned from his position as chief operating officer at Zynga today. Zynga said his resignation was not tendered in connection with any disagreement with the company's operations, policies or practices.
"We can confirm that John Schappert has left Zynga and its Board of Directors effective immediately," Zynga CEO Mark Pincus said in a statement sent to Game Informer. "John has made significant contributions to the games industry throughout his career and we appreciate all that he has done for Zynga.
"John leaves as a friend of the company and we wish him all the best.”
A Bloomberg report last month said Schappert was stripped of his role overseeing game development during a company reorganization. Schappert joined Zynga in May 2011 after serving as COO of Electronic Arts. From 2007 to 2009, Schappert served as Xbox Live's vice president. In 1994, he founded Tiburon Entertainment, which was later acquired by Electronic Arts in 1998.

Well that's a sigh of relief!
Zynga needs to clean house or face going under. Their games are fun little distractions for a few days/weeks but hold no real long term value.

After seeing the other articles about the bad things this company has done, I hope this is the beginning of a reform (or collapse) for this company. Maybe it's time for a new policy or something on being creative and or innovative.
Yeah, he wanted to get out before the lawsuits start piling up. Marc Pincus and co. will all get theirs one day, soon.
zynga is the worst company ever
Not a surprise it is an EA company with the one hundred messages you get saying "Oh no you are almost out of Energy. Buy more now!" lol.
When the going gets tough, get the hell out.

Well I'm calling it... they needed a fall guy. Sure they are talking nicely about him publicly atm, but I know upcoming reports (whether or public or just to investors... if Zynga even has any of those left) will pin the blame on him where convenient. *completely random* I love how EA titles, at least the few I had, for the Sega Genesis had that special cartridge design... it really made them stand out.
