The downloadable Scott Pilgrim game is awesome, but is missing one key component: Online multiplayer. That shortcoming is about to be fixed thanks to DLC on Xbox Live.

According to Major Nelson, the new add-on (which costs $5) is coming on August 19. Even without online multiplayer, the game was well-received, so expanding gamers' available allies beyond our couches can only help the experience, and will provide a great excuse to jump in and play through again.

If you need another reason to fire up Scott Pilgrim, the new DLC also adds a new character: Wallace Wells. Wallace will be the second downloadable character (the first being Knives).

I love seeing DLC support for excellent games, even if they're two years old. The only lingering question is whether or not the PlayStation 3 version will see the same updates. That version came out first and received the Knives DLC before the 360 did, so it would be odd if PlayStation 3 owners were left in the dust.

We've reached out Ubisoft for clarification and will update this story if/when we get a comment.

Well I do hope that the PS3 version does get the online multiplayer, it was a huge letdown when it wasn't included to begin with.

Interesting that it took them so long to get out multiplayer. Then again, it took MGS4 four years to get us trophies. Now all we need is Valkyria Chronicles to get us trophies and all the older games will be fixed! ^_^

Honestly I would've liked to see a Scott Pilgrim 2 video game or something, but I just might pick this up! Really love the game, the comics, and the movie! Hopefully PS3 gets the DLC the same time as 360, usually Ubisoft puts PS3 before 360....

As much as I loved this game, I fail to see why anyone should have to spend $5 just to have it multi-player, online. Does anyone even warrant an interest in this still to actually have them think this will be worth selling? Time will tell.

I wish that this DLC had come out when I was actually playing this game. It seems odd that they would add such a big thing so long after the game was originally released.

What? No information on a PS3 DLC? What the hell!? That was one of the major reasons why I got Scott Pilgrim on my PS3! In hopes of an online mode DLC!

Seems a bit odd to make online a DLC pack, but I guess it comes with Wallace...

This better make it's way to PS3 though, I would enjoy some online multi-player.
