[Update] Temple Run Hits 100 Million Downloads

by Dan Ryckert on Aug 03, 2012 at 03:19 AM

Update: Imangi Studios, the developer behind the endless runner Temple Run, has a few reasons to brag. Make that more than 100 million reasons. The studio announced that the mobile game has been downloaded more than 100 million times.

More than 68 million of those downloads were on iOS devices, while Android players were responsible for 32 million. Imangi also says that players have racked up more than 10 billion sessions of the free game since August 2011. To put that 100 million number in perspective, the company says that 13 percent of the U.S. population has now downloaded the game. Wow.

Original story: If you've played Temple Run on iOS, you're probably aware of just how addictive it can be. You're also nowhere near the first person to realize this, as the game has surpassed 36 million downloads.

Also of note, my score of 5,408,964 is still higher than Reiner's 2,809,728.
