Metal Gear Solid 4 Trophy Patch Coming This Month

Konami said today the patch for Metal Gear Solid 4 that adds trophies and updates the game's lengthy chapter installs is available on Monday, August 6. Sony confirmed the patch arrives in North America at the start of August as well.

The patch also comes pre-installed in a new re-release of the game, which is available later this month in Japan.

The PlayStation blog posted a listing of all the trophies. Head on over there to check it out.

Lack of trophies is actually what has kept me from buying this game used (at the great price of $8.00). Now I'll have to get it.

I never knew that this didn't have trophies. I don't own a PS3, but I thought that trophies were standard for PS3 games (save the PS3 ports of PS2 games).

I'm not doing a perfect runthrough on european extreme again. That trophy had better be unlocked as soon as the patch downloads....ah screw it, I'll do it again.

So what does this update for chapter installs do? Just make them faster or not have to do them at all? I'm so happy those chapter installs didn't start a trend.
